Re: Interactive virtual software compatible with C2?

I actually empathize slightly with the "rowing is boring sentiment." It can be Zen, but it's not like cycling: on a bike (even an indoor spin or smart bike), you can use your hands to interact with a computer, remote, phone, and you can adjust your position, pedaling while upright, aero-tucked, or e...

Re: PM5 / Polar H7

Hello, Newbie here, just got a Model D rower. I have an Android Samsung Galaxy 10+ phone. Bought a Polar Heart rate H7 belt monitor. Info I read said there's an ANT+ app that will find/synch/run this. ANT+ has not been updated for this phone. I'd like to see my heartrate on the Concept2 ErgData App...

Re: Problem with USB-key

The PM5 design goes back to 2014 and does NOT play nice with a lot of USB flash drives - it needs low capacity, low power draw USB2.0 sticks.

I'd advise picking up a stick that's known to work: viewtopic.php?t=185114

TL;DR: Verbatim Metal Executive USB 2.0.

Re: Interactive virtual software compatible with C2?

Getting bored and want to up my experience with the C2. Is there a compatible (BT) online subscription software for the C2, thinking similar to the Hydrow or Peleton. You've got a few options. The Rowing sub-Reddit has a sidebar that links to a few and the users seem to be going through the process...

Re: Rowing in Zwift - suggestion to make it happen

Not much else to say other than " Oh no! Anyway... " as I cancel my Zwift subscription. It may not be the same as Zwift but there are a bunch of connected apps I'll be trying over winter: KREW (Android) - guided workouts, auto-programs the PM5, free, subscription service adds audio feedback and a fe...

Re: Cover/Padding for Seat

Check this thread and the linked images: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=189436&p=493793

TL;DR: doubling up two Concept2 pads is great. You could use a cut up a yoga mat for material as well, with cutouts for your sit bones.

Re: ErgData Testing With Samsung Galaxy A51

Strange I'm running the even older Samsung Galaxy A3(2017) and no issues whatsoever. It would be great if Concept 2 could make a list of phones that DO work with ErgData with no problems because when I replace my current phone it would be a consideration because of how much I use ErgData. Probably ...

Re: ErgData Testing With Samsung Galaxy A51

I'm the firmware developer for the Performance Monitors. I'm looking for someone who uses ErgData with a Samsung Galaxy A51 phone. I would like them to update to the current public firmware release v169, and confirm that connecting to the PM5 and completing a workout goes as expected. Update me on ...

PM5 firmware, September 2020

https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5/firmware/timeline I hadn't seen this mentioned here but feel free to delete if this is a duplicate. I updated last night and my PM5 (hardware version 633, manufactured in August of 2018) seemed to be more responsive - there's zero delay now between butto...

Re: Storing the erg question

Rogue Fitness makes a steel bracket for hanging the Model D on a wall without disassembly: https://www.roguecanada.ca/rogue-row-hanger-black I agree with others the likely reason Concept2 advises disassembly is to avoid the rower becoming a tipping hazard. If someone were concerned about this, a bun...

Re: Model C, PM4, Loging data to Android via USB C & Stand - advice please

Minor bump here as I can't edit older replies with updated photos. My latest USB hub setup: https://i.imgur.com/ME7HE3w.jpg https://i.imgur.com/SuBEDfy.jpg The NPE-CABLE pod on the monitor arm below the battery compartment acts as a bridge and converter to trick Zwift into thinking the rower is a bi...

Re: Model C Damper setting arm replacement

I've seen a Model C at the gym where the drag handle snapped right where it goes into the fan assembly - you can still adjust it with a ball-point pen. I haven't found one for the Model C but people have made 3D-printed drag arms on the Model B: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:753360 If C2 doesn't...

Re: Model C, PM4, Loging data to Android via USB C & Stand - advice please

FWIW, a USB-C Power Delivery hub is the way to go if you're trying to keep a phone charged for a super long row. (half to full marathon would be enough to drain my phone battery) Photo of a mini-PD hub with a 6-inch cable connecting it to the PM5: https://imgur.com/shwsCe3 (it'll work with the PM3 o...

Re: Maximum intensity before machine failure

Brian Shaw, World's Strongest Man, doing 12.8-second 100m row on a Concept2 Model E:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVl0Zt-kZys

Going by the C2 calculators, that's an average of 1338Watts - he likely peaked higher.

No way is any human going to break a Concept2 - they're massively overbuilt.

Re: Rowing in Zwift - suggestion to make it happen

A Reddit thread of interest added context to what rowing in Zwift could look like. Source: https://old.reddit.com/r/Rowing/comments/i43tb4/more_news_about_rowing_coming_to_zwift/g0i0vbu/?context=3 From that: FWIW I'm currently the guy working on rowing at Zwift. It's a small project currently, and w...
