I'm not totally familiar with all of the PM5 nuances as I am still using a PM3.
Is this upgradeable to most recent firmware?
Actually, either way, if not spoken for yet and shipping to 92630 USA is not too bad, I'll go for it.

Rowing the Gordon River
A big row in Tasmania. I'd like to see video of them in the rapids.

Re: PM3 vs PM5 - Pros and cons?
Allan, Thanks for that info. Good for anyone thinking of the PM3 to PM5 upgrade about the arm differences. I'd be fine with an outside wiring with zip ties holding the cable or something. I'd also be fine with drilling a hole to make it cleaner. As far as my log, I currently use a wired connection t...

Re: PM3 vs PM5 - Pros and cons?
I am also considering a PM3 to PM5 upgrade. Do they fit on the same arm? Or does the PM5 require a different one? You may need to buy the retrofit kit - call Concept2 and ask. The retrokit supplies a new arm. With the arm for a PM2 you'd have to attack it with a Dremel. My question was about PM3 to...

Re: Quick Release for Handle?
I have both the wooden and plastic handles.
Have done most of my rowing on the wooden one and still adapting to the new.
I also have a couple of other training ideas for my erg.

Quick Release for Handle?
Has anyone come up with a quick release for a Concept2 Handle? I've been trying to find a carabiner or similar to go between the u-bolt on the handle and the chain end. It looks like the wire diameter needs to be about .25 inch or smaller, but all the items I've checked this size do not have a large...

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
I got my C2 about a year and a half ago. Mostly to supplement other training. In the first year I only did about 40-50k, usually 1 or 2k after an indoor bike training session. I did the April Fool's Challenge and added 120k to that. My 2k best is like 9:54. I'd like that to get far lower, maybe well...

Re: Erg gathering dust because you don't have enough time to row? Hogwash
But it still takes me 15 min to pull the erg out and set everything up.
Might as well row for at least a bit to make it worth it.

Re: Logbook missing textbook for Verification Code
I just tried to do it for fun.
Once I entered 2000 meters, the verification box appeared. I imagine it waits for a rankable event entered.
Tried 4 min and 1000 meters and they worked. 866meters didn't work until I put in 4 min.
Give it a try.

Re: April Fools' 2020 Challenge Progress
I finished the whole thing, it was hard; but I did mostly improve as I went along. For 8k I did 4x2k SS, all were 2:44.x pace. I was happy with the consistency. For 9k I did 3x3k. 2:41 to 2:44, so basically similar. I have the old wooden handle on my Model C and ordered the new style handle. I got i...

Re: Rowing and Cycling Watts
I've been cycling a number of years and am still all not that good. Though, I do race XC and CX. I train fairly regularly indoors with a power meter.
My cycling FTP is 213 watts.
I'm relatively new to rowing and on an hour effort had 83 watts.
So for me, cycling is about 2.5x rowing.

Re: April Fools' 2020 Challenge Progress
I'm doing this one on my Model C. I bought it a year and a half ago, but due to various things have only rowed about 50k meters so far. I am primarily a cyclist and runner and rowing is to add to those. I'm pretty much going for just the minimum distance of the day. The first six days I just did as ...
