Re: January Challenge(s) 2019

So 2K done this morning at 6:00 AM. Warmed up a little with the group and then off to the races. I was hoping for under 9 minutes and finished at 8:47.5 with a 2:11.9 average split. I felt pretty good about that. I've never completed a 2K so a lot of it was in my head. I did realize that during my r...

Re: January Challenge(s) 2019

Hope everyone is doing well with their challenges. So far I'm 14 out of 14 days and counting down the days. One of my less than stellar rows today - felt some forearm tightness most of the way. Doing a 2K this Friday with a group and nervous/hopeful about it.

Re: January Challenge(s) 2019

I signed up for the Big Stretch. Think I can manage it although I'm doing my first timed 2K on the 18th. I may not want to row after that if it goes poorly.

Re: Holiday Challenge 2018!

Hi Sharky, I hit 2MM on the 2nd but I had it planned out to hit on the 31st til I got sick. The first week back it was definitely a learning experience to see how much form/technique and breathing tie together. When my breathing was off (or I was mouth breathing the whole time  ) I felt a littl...

Re: Holiday Challenge 2018!

I finished the HC with 200,000+ which felt good but fell short of my 2M goal for the year when my daughter came home for the holidays and got me sick right after Xmas. Oh well..... Happy New Year everyone! P.S. Getting back on the erg feeling much better but with a little bit of a cough is harder th...

Re: Holiday Challenge 2018!

occowboy, I hope that you still managed to persuade yourself 200,000 metres was doable - I’m going to assume that you did so congratulations👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. I also hope that you have more days when you feel you want to row than days when you don’t. I don’t think I’ll make 2,000,000m for the season but my ...

Re: Holiday Challenge 2018!

Thanks, Jill. I'm at 147,000 M so far so the 200,000 for the HC is doable. Not so sure about 2M for the year though. I've been planning it out but not sure I'll hit it before the year ends with the holidays (and my baby will be home for a week). The goal is good but some days just the thought of row...

Re: Holiday Challenge 2018!

"PR for 500m (2:03.9)" - kudos! 2:00 is my goal. Some days I hit it (barely) and some days it's a struggle. I'm hoping to get to the point where it's more likely that I'll hit it then a surprise if I do. I'm looking forward to the HC2018 which dovetails with my target of 2M by the end of this year. ...
