I'm using this three minute forty second clip from Ben hur to inspire my workout, which I add to the end of my 2000m.

Got to keep it fun

Re: Holly's journey

And another week goes by, all going to plan, 3lb lost, rowing continues to get easier, my 2000m time is now 11.30, not a sprint by any stretch of the imagination but a good part of my new life regime.
Feeling good and adjusting.

Re: Introduce yourself

Hi Deb, welcome, I too suffer from arthritic pain from previous fractures, and I too find the concept 2 the most useful tool for low joint Impact cardio. I'm now 57 and a bit and I've been on the concept 2 for about 5 weeks. If you're looking for a training partner on the erg app, please add me, Hol...

Re: Holly's journey

Hi cujo, thank you for your kind words and support, I'm following Dr Fung, and therapeutic fasting, https://youtu.be/tIuj-oMN-Fk I'm very much aware of yo yo dieting and that reducing calories and ramping up the excersise is a short term fix, Fung goes into this in great detail, great advice from a ...

Re: Holly's journey

A nice routine week this week, may there be many more like it. I've rowed 2000m four times and my time has reduced by a minute and thirty seconds over the distance, so progress is being made. In addition I've lost a further 4lb in unwanted flab. Feeling like I'm actually getting somewhere now. The t...

Re: Holly's journey

It's been a funny week, worked over the weekend so I didn't row and yesterday when I should have rowed, I didn't. All kinds of rubbish excuses for that, none of them valid, so I got a grip. Reduced my rowing to 2000m a workout, and I'm sticking to that for the rest of the month, I think I was gettin...

Re: Holly's journey

Really angry with myself today, just couldn't get past 1000m.

I've just got to say that there will be bad days as well as good, and as this is my first bad day so far, I'm not going to be down hearted.

Re: Holly's journey

Hi Jill, really good to read your story too, I don't think you waffle on at all. Yesterday my team decided to have a McDonald's for lunch, where we all pool our lunch money and someone goes out and gets as much as they can from the saver menu, four weeks ago I would have been there, but the concept ...

Re: Madness 2019!

Hi sharky, I'm joining you, although not competing in the mud challenge because I'm not fit enough yet.
I'm doing 2500m a day for March as a personal challenge.

Re: Holly's journey

Thank you tenshuu, I've mentioned the concept 2 to people at work, and every one of them has a story of an abandoned piece of exercise equipment which now resides in their loft or garage, and a story of how they used to row/cycle/run at home but got bored. I tell them all that the concept 2 is diffe...

Upped my distance to 2500m yesterday, did it again today, and that was difficult but just doable.

Re: Holly's journey

Hi tenshuu, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts. I'm only doing 2000m three or four times a week, and I'm successfully keeping to my diet, but hey that's better than over eating and getting breathless walking up the stairs. I'm just trying to lay a concrete foundation for th...
