Re: Forum Flyers

Great job on the bike erg, Dave! I meant to try and row today, but I ended up doing indoor walking instead, just in bits and pieces, but they added up and I was doing high knee and upward arm punches and um, air Nordic walking, LOL! So if I'm mobile tomorrow, I'll try to row then. Got on the inversi...

Re: Forum Flyers

The blamed virus is making things challenging! I'm doing my best to not be close to other people, but to shop, means walking LOTS more than usual, in order to go around to the other end of an aisle where people AREN'T. Fewer trips mean a heavier cart to push, ugh! I was wiped out after shopping yest...

Re: Forum Flyers

Citroën writes: Perhaps we could allow you to change the 4 minutes rest to 1440 minutes (as the system doesn't check when you record a result). Doug me lad, that’s a right generous offer ye be making to me team mate but I’m thinking ‘t would be most unfair to the likes of Andy Benko, Pavel Shurmei,...

Re: Forum Flyers

But the challenge is 3 x 1721. That extra 2 rounds of 1721m is the problem for me. Would be around 30 minutes or more on the machine in a session. There's no way I can do that. I mean, my physical therapist didn't want me doing more than 5 minutes at a time. I worked my way up to around 12-15 at a ...

Re: Forum Flyers

But I just went to look at the CTC and I think THAT is out of my reach this month. Sad about that, but can't risk it. Unless some kind of miracle happens! Way more rowing at one time than is safe for me. I'm not sure I've ever rowed that far at once before even before the back stuff started! Break ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Hi Cynthia. A weekly circuit of training. i like that! Many folks who are regretting their loss of access to a rowing machine do have yoga bands and various gym-in-a-can cable exercise systems. Calesthenics, jazzercise, cable channel workouts can serve the needs of the equipment-deprived. We encour...

Re: Forum Flyers

Sounds rough over there, Cynthia, sorry to hear that. These types of issues are frustrating when there doesn't seem to be specific causes and effects to link together and solve. I think it is just perhaps doing a little too much in a day. And it takes forever for the nerves to calm. It is HUGELY fr...

Re: Forum Flyers

Rowed! 800m. Now to wait and see if it made anything worse. Still getting a fair amount of nerve pain walking around. Didn't seem worse on the rower though. I went slow and light and mostly 3/4 slide. Going full slide did seem to be a bit more aggravating to the right leg. Walked no worse than usual...

Re: Forum Flyers

OK, my back wasn't too bad this morning, not good either, still a fair amount of nerve pain in my right hip/butt, but I've been missing rowing and no activity isn't good for me either. So, I have *a* CTC challenge done. It is not a very good one. I could tell that I should not push at all, so that ...

Re: Forum Flyers

See Cynthia - you floated a boat! Well done to finish Terry and I did the ctc tonite - a little concerned that our gym will close soon as part of the COVID response so wanted to get a score on the board Mine was @1:50.7 and terry was @1:56.5 (he just pushed Rick out of boat 2 and surprised himself ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Every effort is worth recording, Cynthia, and it could be the reason another boat floats off the dock. Also, it's a snapshot of where you were at the time. So if you're feeling stronger later in the month, you will know you can chase down that entry and pass it. And if you don't get back onto the r...

Re: Forum Flyers

Entertaining story, Cynthia! I can picture the eye-rolling and gesturing at the remains of the archaeological dig as you worked through the luggage. And can almost imagine a husband going... "what?" :D Dave He had a bit of a grump next morning as he wasn't quite sure where things were, but surely i...

Re: Forum Flyers

Absolutely don’t mind sharing. My name is Stacia, 47 yo female. I joined the team for the March 15 challenge. Was going to add myself to the CTC challenge as well but had questions before I did. Since I’m new to rowing workouts and terms. The 4 minutes rest, do you completely rest with no rowing ac...

Re: Forum Flyers

Just a quick post to say hello. I joined the team today and will certainly be doing my best to contribute as many metres as I can😊. I mainly row to keep fit – plenty of pounds to lose – so I generally row every day. I rowed semi-regularly on my C2 a while back, then didn’t for a while, then started...
