Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Another congrats here - well done that's a really good HM! That's a great finish of the season! Good bit cut off with consistent pacing :) Well done! Considering you were reluctant to even contemplate doing this, you've properly smashed this out of the park. Excellent finish to the season Thx all. ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
And we're done (well, for the season): HM PB 1:25:15.6 (was 1:26.04.6). Didn't want to push hard at the end, fearing last minute cramps or something wrecking it, but overall not paced too badly for my standards. Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR 1:25:15.6 21,097 2:01.2 196 975 26 164 8:01.1 2,000...

Re: Form feedback - especially in longer sessions
Sorry for the small off-topic (I let more qualified rowers help you about the form). FWIW, I almost always notice a change in effort at around 45 mins, to varying degrees, which I believe is due to a change in energy systems and burning more fat stores. Same here. At the 50-60min mark, I feel someth...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Congrats to p_b82 and bassongirl for the 5K PBs. I fulfilled my (self-imposed) contract today with a 10K PB: 39:23.1 down from the previous 39:48.5. Re: Good Substitute for Gloves
I'm *very* happy with that solution, my hands are way better than before.
They seem to hold nicely over time. Last thing to check is how they do when temps are >30C in my garage.

Re: Are your skierg results similar to your rower results?
For me it's +10s/500m for same perceived effort / heart rate on slow sessions.
I haven't tried yet to go full out on the skierg but I suspect it will be =10s/500m at least, likely a bit more.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
1min PB ( 338m from 332m) and 1K PB ( 3:23.9 from 3:26.9) done too. The 1K was weirdly paced (1:40.4, 1:42.6, 1:43.0 and 1:41.8 each 250m). Got the 4 PBs (1min, 500m, 1K and 2K) at way higher DF than usual (150 for the 2K, 165-170 for the rest), with a rather constant -1.5s/500m improvement (the 500...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Another PB to report from me. This time 30 mins. Previous PB for this distance was 7310 13/04/2024 so almost a year ago. Plan today was r25 at around 2:03 pace with a push at the end. Went well but was a little worried when HR was already 150 with 10 mins to go and I needed to lift the pace! Time M...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Ha ! Decided to do the dreaded 2K TT today (because what's the point in delaying self-inflicted pain one extra day ?) and went a bit beyond my expectations: 7:12.4 (down from 7:18.6). Still faded a bit last 500m, but that's me. Gonna go for the 1K and 1min next with some confidence. But the 5K, 10K ...

Re: Tennis elbow and resuming activity
Got tennis elbow for a while, went to see a doctor, confirmed diagnosis with ultrasounds, prescribed 10 sessions with a physio. Each session was like 5min massage, 40min of exercises that seemed (to me) totally unrelated to my condition. I was kind of skeptical, but I tend to follow medical advise c...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
OK, so after a health scare end of Nov'24 (no training at all for a month), I tried to get back to where I was. Goal was to move closer to my sub-7' 2K wet dream from my corrent 7:19. Of course, during thge last week (taper) I had to catch a cold/sore throat, so I was even less confident than usual....

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Full marathon done... taking that final 0.1 second off the average split was well worth the agony of the last 10-12k :). Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M 2:34:34.6 42,195 1:49.9 264 1207 25 157 My feelings about this one are in a quantum superposition of inspiring and depressing: that FM pace is s...

Re: Skierg stroke rate
By chance, a while ago I stumbled on a video on skierg technique ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99mWoTzvtPM ) and my takeaway was "I have to rate higher". I tried to do so in my steady state sessions (30min at 2:20-2:22) and it seems to work: I have lower HR when I rate 36-37 avg compared to 30 a...
