Re: New Model D Seat Doesn't Auto-glide Down the Monorail
On an unrelated matter, how's your flywheel clutch? I totally didn't catch this question. But to answer, the flywheel clutch on the old rower worked flawlessly since cleaning out the old grease and adding a drop of motor oil, which was a suggestion I got on this forum. Not a single issue after that.

Re: New Model D Seat Doesn't Auto-glide Down the Monorail
So I decided to conduct an experiment and switched out the rollers from my old one, and lo and behold, the seat now glides down the monorail by itself when not being used. Just curious, does anyone have any idea about what would cause a near-new rower to have this issue? Obvious it's the rollers bu...

New Model D Seat Doesn't Auto-glide Down the Monorail
Hi folks. Weird situation. I bought a used Model D that was manufactured in 2021. It's only got 150,000 lifetime meters and everything is in obvious pristine condition. An older couple owned it but never really used it. The only issue was the seat didn't glide down the monorail on its own when not i...

Re: Chair Rollers
Do you still have the mineral spirits and motor oil handy? It looks like the rollers have ball bearings in them, which might be dirty and/or dry. Also, C2 sells the rollers for $8. You need two of them. https://shop.concept2.com/parts/104-seat-roller-top.html Shoot thanks. That's a better option. I...

Chair Rollers
I've cleaned mine really good with a non harsh cleaner and there's still some discoloration around the ends. And regardless of how clean they are, I can still feel some clicking. When do you actually replace these? From what I've read, they last a long time and cleaning them eliminates that clicking...

Re: Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Replacement Flywheel?
You might try rinsing the bearing with WD40 or solvent, and then drying it and oiling with motor oil. It may be just sticky rather than broken. I did see a YouTube video of somebody who used a home-made removal tool but now the Algorithm won't show it to me. The bearing itself is about $20 on the w...

Re: Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Replacement Flywheel?
Well it functioned flawlessly. However, I did call concept 2 and they said they do carry replacement flywheels but that they don't state this on their website. So I ordered one. It's only $100 for some peace of mind that it won't break loose on me again, which is a horrible feeling when you're in th...

Re: Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Replacement Flywheel?
Call C2, they will get you one. Before you call, open flywheel cage, put rower on its side and put a little penetrating oil or 3inOne on the bearing. @ c2jonw had a procedure documented for this, and there was a youtube video showing how to do it from someone else. I can't find either. The skill le...

Re: Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Replacement Flywheel?
You can also find replacements for the clutch bearing, if that's the problem. But it is press fit into the flywheel, so you need tools of mass destruction to change it. Exactly. The clutch bearing gives every so often than catches right away. I don't have the tools or knowledge to replace it so I f...

Re: Flywheel Clutch Bearing Behavior in Cold Conditions
This morning I did the workout I attempted to do the other day (same intensity arc and duration). This time I kept the garage door closed and no issues. Also cleaned out the flywheel bearing and added some 3 in 1.
