Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

If you could delete my other accounts (Rod Chinn, Rod Chinn Lwt and Rod.Chinn) as well that would be great as I’m not going to be using them again. I'll do it the other way round and mark your Sub7 ID with (SUB7). I can't delete an ID that has ever added an entry for any challenge as that breaks th...

I have a rower "A"
What's that?
I think we need a photo of that evil rowing gadget or we can't be sure it's a Concept2 machine and not some Brand-X imitation.

Re: How is overall SPM calculated?

All split values in PM2/PM3/PM4/PM5 are instantaneous. As the split time/distance is reached the PM records the current state of the counters. No averaging, no rolling averages. All rounding is simplisticly rounded down. Not mathematic or algebraic. This is why a restricted to 20 SPM 30 minute row i...

He's created a new ID "Rod Chinn." so I've editted that to "Rod Chinn (MAD)". The defection is probably documented on the Faceborgs website.

Wow, that's a shame they still aren't posting
Lots of folks jumped ship to the Faceborg. The folks left on here are ones who actually care about their internet privacy and security.

Re: Hello - Rower Choice

Thanks for the information about the PM5 set up and also about the SkiErg. With respect to the rower and for that matter any exercise equipment that has a digital display... how accurate if anything is the display relative to calories burned? It has the same level of effectiveness as 220-age for he...

Re: New model

Any thoughts of any update to the actual concept 2 coming soon? I am planning on buying a new one but want to be sure it will not be replaced soon with an updated version. If you take that view you'll never buy one. Just get a model D with PM5 and enjoy your rowing. Most companies won't pre-announc...

I'd personally not bother faffing about with the broken PM2. Just invest in a more up to date monitor
This is the best answer in this thread. There's no value in repairing an old PM2, mail it overseas to Carl for his collection of spare parts and buy a new PM5.

What model? https://www.concept2.com/service/indoor-rowers
What monitor? https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors

A clean model D with a PM5 for $700 is something to bite the seller's hand off.

Re: Realistic 6 Month Improvement

You're overcompressing at the front and pausing at the back.

You shouldn't allow your shins to go over vertical at the front.
At the back it should be a quick continuous movement, handle into sternum and quick hands away.

I suspect you may be rushing the slide as well.

PM2: No connectivity to HR sensors or PC/phone (as far as I know, at least).
PM2 would work with the Polar analog HR dongle (on a long wire).

Photobucket won't let me upload any images without paying a monthly fee. Are there any free photo storing sites?
I use https://imgur.com that even gives you the BBCode for use on this forum.
