Re: Proteus Machine

I think we're both saying the same thing and describing the same problem with most Brand-X ergos. The ones that do measure watts are more comparable, but we may still be comparing apples to oranges.

Re: Proteus Machine

You're making the assumption that they're using a flywheel sensor and known moment of inertia to calculate dissipated power.

Lots of Brand-X rowers use a much more naïve method like counting strokes and assumptions like 10m per stroke.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

You probably want to join an existing team first (as you need 3 HWTs, 1 LWT and one lady at minimum to make a sensible new team).

Create an ID here: http://c2ctc.com/person.php
If you can't find a team, then join the Independents.

It is still irritating that it is not a standard USB cable. Everybody has those.
What are you on about?

It is a standard USB-A to USB-B printer cable, that we've been using for years (since the advent of USB connected printers).

If you've cleared board cookies, you're not running any browser cookie blocker (or option not to save cookies).

Then send an email to info@concept2.com and they should be able to find a fix.

Re: Ergdata doesn't fetch exercises from PM5

How to force Ergdata to sync the exercise data from PM5 to the Online Logbook? That's completely undesirable. I use Ergdata with a gym machine. I don't want any of the other workouts downloaded to my logbook, that would be illogical - they don't belong to me, I've not rowed them. If Ergdata fails, ...

Re: foot straps

Easy rule of thumb is ankle bone level with the monorail and strap across the bend in your shoes.

What firmware version is it running?
Take a look at the Product ID page: Main menu --> More options --> Utilities --> Product ID

Re: Setting up a model D

Post a photo.

The only error we see is the front legs being attached back to front.

The seat is supposed to slide to the front, there's a shallow slope on the monorail.

Re: Average pace on PM4

All of the maths in your PM4 rounds down, even when you as a mathematician would expect it to round up, it rounds down.

It's always the easy explanation for "why can't my PM4 do the maths I expect?".

Re: Erg Data

It's probably applying the silly formula that's used at https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/training/calculators/weight-adjustment-calculator to turn sensible, comparable figures from the monitor into complete nonsense. Because using weight without using height is not going to give you anything u...

Did my first HM "for fun": 21,098m
That's not a HM, that's an off by one error (you can't rank your row). A HM is 20197m, a FM is 42195m.
