Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Woke up to our older dog in pretty rough shape, reminiscent of when his mother who we had for a long time had a stroke and ultimately didn't make it. Very sorry to read this. It's never easy and as you say, really try focus on the happy memories. That's good that it's not a hernia, but bad that you...

Re: How to improve watts/distance and stay within heart rate......

If I was you I'd row using RPE and use your intuition. I wonder if you're hindering your progress as you're trying to use technology too much. Keep it simple and see if that helps. +1 on this suggestion. It's so easy to get bogged down in to training zones, heart rate, watts (do people actually use...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Yeah. It's making a bit of a grinding noise at the start, so I'm assuming that it's eventually got damaged through too much moisture. The two dehum....ers I've got draw out a few litres of water every 10 days or so, and I've had quite a few years with only those chemical versions that aren't as goo...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I've found an independent gym close to where we're staying for a week, so I'm going to use it instead of my usual slob out, drink and eat too much type of holiday. I had high hopes, but the max drag factor was 105, so they vanished quickly, but at least it felt smooth (only 2.4mm), so this further ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I will give occasional r20 a go. In fact I tried it tonight. however between keeping track of my pace and HR it was too much to concentrate on and I gave up and ended up with r23. Just did 30' at UT2 - too busy making classes, labs, and powerpoints today. At least i kept my streak alive and my UT2 ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I'm not sure to be honest. I assume my gut function is highly impaired by the antibiotics I got. So hopefully it only takes another week or two (or even some more... :? ) to come back to normal function. Very inconvenient feeling throughout the day  Currently eating twice a day with roughly 14...

Re: The Lunch Hour 2k Pete plan (following on the BPP plan).

I am not young anymore, so recovery is a parameter. Ideally 3 sessions/week. I set up an trial version of an unbroken 12k yesterday evening. Pace at 2:15 was not an issue, but eventually my HR went out of the zone I wanted to work in so I stopped at 10k. Temperature was around 28oC. This is just th...

That's the best bit!! I love eating!
Can I rephrase that then- tired of the washing up and shopping  I've been round sports long enough, I didn't think at aged 34 I'd be saying I have to eat so darn much to fuel my training.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I also hate 2x a day training as a lot of time is wasted taking 2 showers, changing clothes, shoes etc, and only do it when something interrupts a session. I work full time and so I like to train 6-9 PM weekdays, and weekend mornings I train after I eat breakfast and walk the dogs. I used to play a...
