Re: Rowing your running miles

If I may, let me put a different twist on this question. I just stopped running after 33 years due to a knee problem. During runs, my bpm was always 120+ for a 30 min run with my primary goal of cardio (aerobic) training and calorie burning which was usually 450 for the 30 min run. I just purchased...

Re: Rowing strapless...

I'm definitely in the strapless camp. I figure if it encourages good technique and more efficient rowing, that's good. Plus, I find that it doesn't hold me back in my final 200-500m sprints, so IMO there's reason not to go strapless. If I were a racer, or if I were doing 2k tests on a frequent basi...

I have a strong feeling that shipping a heavy dyno between the USA and Ireland could have quite a high price.
Just row it

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

Thanks Dan! Well, I really did regret putting that post up, I beat my previous times for the marathon and the 50k, and could have stopped at either for a win. Things went downhill from there, and it turned into a real slog. I won’t go into details, other than to say to anyone else thinking of the 1...

Re: Global Marathon and Century Challenge

So its nearly the end of the Global Marathon and Century Challenge window.... Wasn't sure I'd have time tomorrow, so it was HM time this evening. I would have been quite happy trying to knock a bit off my PB, but then a certain young Austrian went and smashed my HM PB on his first HM attempt a coup...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

Finally!!! After a back injury I've done my first row in a little over 8 months. So good to get just 5 minutes under my belt and as long as there's no reaction I can add rowing back to my workout regime and steadily increase time and distance! Phew! Woo Hoo! Welcome back. Slow and steady coming bac...

Re: Global Marathon and Century Challenge

So... it's done... my first FM :) Three and a bit months ago I had the crazy idea of trying to do a 3 hour marathon... when I had only done 1 x HM before. I was drifting along in January after completing the Holiday challenge and surprising myself by not missing a day in the 33 days. At first I pla...

Re: C_Breeze

I live in humidity-soaked, often-quite-warm South Carolina. My Model D is kept (and used almost daily) in the garage and for most of the year, used in conjunction with a couple of box fans. I decided before it got to bad this year, I'd try a C_Breeze. So far, so good, but I'm curious for those of y...
