Re: Argument against rowing early in the morning

The library at the hospital my wife works at is looking for a copy of the 1998 article. If they find it, I'll post it. Here is another article I found. Spine (Phila Pa 1976). 1987 Mar;12(2):130-7. Diurnal variations in the stresses on the lumbar spine. Adams MA, Dolan P, Hutton WC. Abstract Two comp...

Re: Argument against rowing early in the morning

Here is the full cite. I'll look for a copy.

Argument against rowing early in the morning

I ran across this article from Dr. Stuart McGill Further, time of day influences the rate of herniation. After rising from bed, the disc nucleus' are fully hydrated and have much higher stresses during flexion. It is more risky to train repeated bending earlier in the morning. Occupational studies h...

Re: PM5 Problems

I have done all my updates (16, 16 betas, 17) with the USB stick (not the C2 one) without problems.

How are they measuring your body fat? Anything short of dexa or a bodpod is pretty inaccurate.

Re: PM5 is here ...

I'm currently using 16.008 which I haven't found a problem with yet.

Was using 16.004 which seemed fine except I couldn't save favorite workouts.

Email from Scott says to expect version 16.013 or higher in the coming week.

Had 15 to start with the PM5 but it would crash on the power curve screen.

Endurerow seat

Anyone have an Endurerow seat? I was planning on buying one when they are back in stock.

The stock C2 seat and my bony butt don't get along even with a sorbothane pad.

A couple of years, will it really take them that long to get it right? Ugh! :x

Re: PM5 Error Codes - what a mess!

Only about 1/2 of the time does the PM5 recognize my Garmin HRM strap even though it is saved on the thumb drive. I have to back up and manually add it again. This is after making sure I wait at start up to make sure the PM5 is reading from the thumb drive (hour glass and screen change). If I jump t...

Re: Am I doing it right?

Thanks for the advice on pace. I agree that it was silly to go out that hard. It was just so much fun seeing that 1:40 pace that I didn't want to slow down.

It was also good to feel everything coming apart, been a long time since I felt that. I almost enjoyed it.

Re: Am I doing it right?

Well, I came home from work and my wife didn't want dinner so I downed a few carbs and decided to do a 2k. It was fun but really ugly. I went out really hard thinking wow I can hold 1:40. That was neat for about 700m until I realized my heart was about 3 beats from where I think max is.....and then ...

Re: PM5 Error Codes - what a mess!

I'll agree that the PM5 seems to have been released early without proper testing. Only error code I have seen is 1842-37. But everything has saved. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that the update to V16 worked. It no longer freezes on the force curve screen and seems to be stable. Take the supplie...

Re: Am I doing it right?

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies. Yes, heart rate/exertion level training is all that I know. Using power output and pace are new to me. Yesterday's workout was 10 minutes at a 1:55 pace at low AT. That probably gives a pretty good idea of where I am at after 6 weeks. One surprising thing I h...

Re: Am I doing it right?

Thank you everyone for your advice. I had no business trying a 2K the day after I got the rower but I really wanted to get a starting point even though it was only at 27 spm with a heart rate of 140. I also doubt I can currently row a 7:00 2k since I have never rowed above 28 spm or AT. I'll just co...

Re: What comes with PM5?

I have the Garmin chest strap available from C2 for $50 for use with the PM4 and PM5.

I would guess that the one supplied with the PM4 would also work with the PM5 (both ANT technology).
