Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Had a go at the Sub 7 ITC Rugby Test today. This is not my favourite row, particularly the last interval , which is why I'm only doing it now, near the end of the month. I was aiming to match what I did two years ago by targeting intervals paces of 1:57, 1:55, 1:53 1:49.5, and 1:55 (for an av...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Whoopie do - to borrow a phrase from Rod. Cranked out 6974m in 30 minutes (2:09.0 pace, 26 spm) which is the fastest ever as LWT and 4th fastest ever achieved. Personal best stands at 7025m (2:08.1) from 1 year ago so maybe another couple of runs at it before the end of the season. Splits 1396m, 139...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Dean - I dont like DIY or tidying up, but if the end result looks good then at least when it is done you can be happy about it later. You did well on the CTC consiidering you dont normally do such a short crazy session. Marjorie - well done on the 5k and beginning to be more pleasant weather OTW Mi...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Rod - excellent sub7 2k earlier this week. Would be great if you do that again when 60+ LWT. Brilliant 10k session to improve by 16 secs in a short time. Hope you have a great track running season too. Mike - good going on the 5k 20spm and so close to 5 minutes on the Carole McNally 1402m when late ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Marjorie - many congratulations on your 2nd hammer, new British Record and a fantastic row at the CRASH-Bs. B) Must be a fantastic feeling to be 1st in the World Champs. Not forgetting your flying 4 minutes at 1047m for a SB too. Rod - well done on your improvement in the Rugby test. Superb 1 hour ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Dean - HM in less than 90 minutes at 18spm strapless is sensational, particularly when recovering from the lurgy. Best wishes for your 50k and 100k. From the results you are getting I wouldnt have guessed that you had any disc problems or spondylosis. Marjorie - well done on your CTC 10 x 90 secs r...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Although I had 2 rest days before Manchester I think I was not as well recovered as I should have been, (was very stiff on Friday thanks to my personal trainers idea of over 100 squats and 60 deadlifts with weights and a few pressups and dumbell swings on Weds am and my 20k ergo in the evening). I s...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Marjorie - well done on your recent 1k in 3:51.4 and improving by 0.9 secs on previously. I dont watch telly as I row, (not possible to see in the gym from the rowers when at the catch anyway). I am not concerned about that, but quite like background music. Do sneak a peak at TV in the rests for 30...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Just a short note to say that I sat through 32195m on Sunday, (2 hours 32 minutes of fun) 2:22.2 average. Stuck to the 2:20 pace for the first half, went downhill in the middle, but a strong last 8k, (although was suffering with shoulder and neck ache by then) :| . In the gym is more difficult...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

2k TT - splits 2:04.4 (29spm), 2:03.7 (29spm), 2:04.0 (30spm) and 2:02.4 (32spm). Happy with that and broke target of 8:15.0, although lost a bit of ground in 3rd quarter which is unlike me. Seasons best of 8:14.7 and 0.5 seconds better than Cardiff in November. Not expecting any great improvement a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Amsterdam - a rather chilly day as -4c outside but lucky I didnt have to wait long for the bus and knew where I was going, (having done the legwork on Saturday). Arrived before anyone else connected with the race but managed to get inside the venue and wait for the weighin at 9:10. Was surprised to...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Just a quick update to say that I wasnt the only lightweight 50+ at Amsterdam, (somehow didnt spot Denia Amon, a fellow member of Sub7 in the list). A tough race but an unexpected win for me B) More details later as first day back at work, and I am seriously underprepared around the house at ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Just checking the race times for Sunday - 11:10 so I dont need to rush, (have only about 5 miles to travel from hotel although will aim to be there by 9:30 latest). Only me in category so will probably have to join the three 40+ LWTs if I want a medal.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

LGF - good planning in regard to 60+ records that you can take. I may see you in Devon, (if doesnt clash with any half marathon running I have in the pipeline). Dean - you do more metres in a week than I do in a month most of the time, (even my 100k in 2017 so far). Wishing you well if you go for a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

I am very pleased that Saturday I not only made LWT but a very steady HM with negative split and not particularly dying afterwards, for a three year best and top of current rankings for the 50-59 LWT ladies B) . Average 2;15.8 DF 116 and spm 26. Hopefully looking good for when I extend that to 30k a...
