Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Marjorie - congratulations on your Gold at WIRC and hope you enjoyed the experience of taking part. Great result for your first OTW medal too. Looking good for getting to the top of the 1k 60-69 rankings and a cracking seasons best at Bideford. Rod - nicely under Sub7 at WIRC for a very deserved Si...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

As life is manic I am just going to say best wishes to Majorie, Rod, Carol and anyone else going to Long Beach this weekend for the Crash-Bs. Me - a journey to St Austell to knock out 2k. Hoping for 8:34 this time. Might do a catchup online later but just dropping in now in case you are heading off ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Majorie - great result on the 10k and new SB even when recovering from the lurgy. Hope you are raring to go Sunday and at the other events, (didn't spot Bideford as it would have been easier than rail replacement journey to St Austell that I am doing for the race on 23 Feb). Mike - glad you are hap...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Marjorie – well done on your 4655m for the 20mins at max 20spm, and making use of high DF and spm for 294m in a manic minute. So close on your 100m attempts to improve on an already impressive 19.6 secs. Hope the weather allows you to continue OTW too. I dont expect that you lost any fitness due to...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

I have celebrated my birthday (54) with a 2k and a massive icecream treat :D

Just got the 8:40 done, steady pace throughout 2:10.0, 2:10.2, 2:10.3, 2:09.5 splits. Could probably squeeze another second or two next time.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Marjorie – glad the weather has been very suitable for you to enjoy OTW this time of year. Good going on the New Years Eve ergo 5k. Wonderful 1 minute 289m. Mike – hope your new erg gives you as many years of service as your Model C. It reminds me of my mate Charles who had his Model C for about 14...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

I probably did only 398/9 strokes on this challenge and therefore got ave 19, even though that should be 19.9. 2 min splits - 18 spm x 1, 19spm x 1, 20 spm x 6, 21spm x 2. I was certainly attempting to stick at 20spm, although I knew I had started too slow. I will be counting my 4056m in the challen...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Richard - stunning 5k TT today. Even better if you can verify that 17:09. Perhaps a rest is good for you :o Me - 5k rather overshadowed by the above. Matched the stroke rate but approx half the power. Target 22:40 but result 22:45, (was trying to turn 2:16.5 into 2:16.0 pace but just could find the...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Happy New Year everyone. Congratulations to Rod on adding another British Record and stunning PB to his collection on Saturday and hope that 2019 will be just as successful. PS Hopefully have a 5k TT done before the gym closes today at 22:40 (2:16) pace. Maybe in another 3 hours time I will feel mor...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Marjorie - Congratulations on your medals and 2k and 500m times at WIRC, and improving them at BRIC. Even though you don’t enjoy half-marathons you improved on your target pace for one. Looking good for being near the top of the nonathalon rankings and your Concept2 ones as well. If it doesn’t work...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Dont know where all the time goes but hey ho - just had to give a 2k a go. 9:07.5 - 2:17 pace throughout at 30spm. You bet I am happy but hoping to go sub-9 in a fortnights time. Might consider Manchester 3 Feb. Dont know exactly where I will be volunteering Saturday but may see you around.

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Just a quick shout out for those going to Cardiff tomorrow - hope you do well and have a great time. Me - not doing 2k just yet but will pull one out for December. 10 minutes is probably do-able - hip moving nicely but obvious lack of fitness and power. C2CTC - managed to get spm over 30 but never g...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Hi everyone Just a quick message 3 months postop. Been on the ergo for the first time yesterday. All hip patients are a bit nervous of this gym exercise as it can potentially lead to dislocation so not surprisingly held off doing this and concentrated on pushing on the bike instead during the time o...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - Great work on the 5 x 2k r2 to be so close to what you intended, and to shave some 10ths off the Sub7 1k. Looks like a new target for the 30 mins varipace now and congratulations on the 16 x 250 r90 secs best. Rod – nice one, improving the hour of power British 60-69 LWT record that you alre...
