Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Half Marathon - done it for the 4th time this season. Started December with a 1:39.06 which is 25 secs off 2 weeks back and 2:20.9 pace. Never dropped below 2:24 pace so controlled it better this time. Really wanted to to sub 1:39 but couldnt find the finish, Tonight - 3 days on I should be doing a...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Lindsay - great stuff on the bikeerg. I hvent tried this machine - is it much different from a Wattabike? Great work on the 3:24.5 for 1k challenge. I see you sneaked in at under 3 minutes on adjusted time, (right behind Mike and way ahead of my effort). Mike – I admire your persistence with the bl...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Oops - dropped off the radar again. 14 Nov – 1k in 4:08.6 which is a SB by 0.9 secs. A great improvement and useful for Fitness Matters challenge. 16 Nov – half marathon in 1:39:31.7. A test run for a potential marathon in Hamburg next February to see if I can stick the pace. First hour went by at a...

Me; 6 Nov - did that 60 minutes I promised. First 35 minutes done at 2:16 pace and then slowed down a tad to finish on average 2:16.5 pace and 13186m. Spm 26, 44m improvement on seasons best. B) 7 Nov - kept this short and sweet as a mainly upper body strength session 9 Nov - 8848m at 2:13.5 pace f...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Thanks for the update. I’m still at the rower and recently bought a BikeErg too so getting some d3cent quality work in although nowhere near what. I was 20 years ago🤣 Bashed out an easy 7:43 last week on the Erg and 7:22 for 4km on the bike RR - great to see you are still knocking out some quality ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - Looks like your free rate pace of 27-28 is much like mine over distance of say 5k to 10k and good start on your 8k free rate sessions. Brilliant 8 x 500m r3:30 on the 22nd October and 16x250 r90" on the 28th. Congratulations on coming so close to a PB on a manic minute to complete October. G...

Re: Boat Race Test

I used to do 16 mins 19 secs as a challenge when there was a Concept2 one for this each April. The last time I did was April 2014 - cannot find any stats on this now

Re: Mizuno British Rowing Indoor Championships

No sporting background unless a a math-lete counts? Lol. Sam I recommend you do some maths in your head while you row if you ever venture into halfmarathon or more, (makes a long stint more bearable :D ). What I figured out after the last post was that your 5k pace is considerably faster than your ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

I know it has been a long time and and I dont think I will have time to catch up on what has a been going on here in my absence. Trying to get into gear for the upcoming race season - Sunday will be the first 2k race since the end of last year so hopefully set a good marker of around 8:25, (if I can...

Re: Mizuno British Rowing Indoor Championships

Sam - main thing with the British Rowing Champs is to be where you need to be well ahead of schedule so although it might seem a long time ahead of race time make sure you know the timetable for your event. Warmup time is directly before your race - ensure you have a plan of no more than 10 minutes...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - hopefully I will get a chance to be the forum a bit more soon. I can see that you have been busy on any distance between 100m and 1 hour and training most days. Great news on your 1k TT on the 12 Sept, and hitting exactly 33 mins for 8k at 20spm amongst other workouts. LGF - hello there and ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - sorry I havent been on here for a while but will hopefully be back soon. I have had an an enjoyable time in Austria for 10 days but now have to sort out after my fathers death (not entirely unexpected but throws a lot to do in my direction). Hoping to make Exeter 5k with somewhere around 21 ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Mike - Brilliant 4 x 1k r3:30 at the end of July. Having fun with the numbers such as 33:03.3 for 8k. Excellent 8x500 3:30r improvement and 5x2k 2r @ 20 spm under 40 mins.Definitely plenty of happy results in the last 2 weeks. Me - the pairs racing was on one ergo and the 20 secs is set as rests on...
