Sunday been rowing 6 k. Three times 2 k with resting in between.

SPM was a little below 30, Damper level @8. I was tired from rowing the previous days. So it took me about 27 minutes.

@ Iain, Thanks ! Today I rowed 20:32:1 out of the blue. I set the paceboat at 2:20/500m. SPM was below 30, Damper level @8. I all went very well, so during the 5 k I decided to go for it. In the end I didnot even know if it was a seasonal best. I only discovered this, when I checked World Online Row...

5 K training for a personal best

Hi all, My pb stands at 20:11. Today i rowed two times 2 k with a break in between, where i did some other exercises. Both were below 8:00. So maybe I am shap to ro a new p.b., possibly below twenty minutes on the 5k. Is there a special trainingprogram to make this even more likely to happen ? My sb...

Not a PB, but definitely an SB.
I did 1 K 3:44.8 today. I was short of breath afterwards (Oxygen debt built up during the race).

It is only 4.9 seconds above my personal best.

Re: stroke rates

Heaviestuser, I can't tell you how glad I am to see you here. I thought I was the only one alive to had scores similar to yours....WHO are these folks to can do 6:29 for 2000M??? How did they get that way? How long did it take? That's the forum question I'd love to see answered! My pleasure @ Iain,...

Hi, Thanks for your advice. As I am only rowing in the gym, there is no problem there with the rythm in the boat. :D I wanted to start rowing on our local river, but I am too busy at the moment with other sports ( mainly tennis ). I'll tackle the rythm problem there as it happens and if it will happ...

I am always rowing at 30-31. I get stuck when I row below 30 spm. The movement does not seem to flow anylonger. Lately I was told that a lower stroke rate is not so bad, and also allows you to row 2:00 splits. But it did not work for me. Maybe my legs and arms are not strong enough for a strong and ...

Yesterday I improved my 2K P.b. for this season (2009) with 0.1 sec.

It is still 14 seconds slower than my lifetime P.b.. So there is room for improvement.
