Re: Starnberg, German long distance championships

H20 - I was at Starnberg for the first time in 4 years and noticed several people HD. Also some people looked like they were about to pass out. For me the air was warmer than I would have liked but the door by the stage was open by my race at 14:40. Like you I would have been wary about starting a ...

Re: Natural Stroke Rate For Time Trial?

it depends.... my power per stroke is pretty constant throughout 2k to FM so pace is goverend solely by my rate. shorter distances = rate up = faster pace longer distances = rate down = slower pace i would be very suprised by anyone that kept the same rates and just used weaker/stronger strokes to g...

Re: Weight trainign n conjunction with ergo to lose weight

can't remember if i ever lost weight from weight training.. I usually do more over winter than summer - but whilst maintaining the same body fat (about 13%) I di gain a few pounds Diet is about 100 times more important than training for losing weight in my opinion. (that doesn't mean its importance ...

Re: Steady State Confusion

or do watts if you have no HR measuring stuff:

7:24 2k = 1:51/500m split
1:51 split = 238W

60-70% of 238 = 143 - 167W - average = 2:15 - 2:08/500m @ ~ R18-20

Re: Using Paul's Law to predict my 2K race pace

i found another method is to calculate the power per stroke on all events -take the average and then calculate a 2k from there... I think the sprint results don't really take the aerobic component of a 2k into consideration... Edit: just thru some values in. based on my longer aerobic stuff (FM/HM) ...

Tough session but not too tough and certainl...
