Re: Steady State Confusion

or do watts if you have no HR measuring stuff:

7:24 2k = 1:51/500m split
1:51 split = 238W

60-70% of 238 = 143 - 167W - average = 2:15 - 2:08/500m @ ~ R18-20

Re: Using Paul's Law to predict my 2K race pace

i found another method is to calculate the power per stroke on all events -take the average and then calculate a 2k from there... I think the sprint results don't really take the aerobic component of a 2k into consideration... Edit: just thru some values in. based on my longer aerobic stuff (FM/HM) ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

wasn't sure what to do yesterday. Thought about doing a 6kTT, but after the warmup, wasn't really feeling it. Day before was weights and then a 30k SS row, Legs were still feeling a little heavy so I binned it after 800m Spent 5 minutes looking at the custome rows I have created in row pro for some ...

carpets... not a fan of carpets - too much time in england. Have nightmares about one hotel with carpet in the bathroom. toilet and bathtub mounted on top.. I remember walking from the shower into the bedroom barefoot - i had hobbit feet at the end. the fitted carpet around the toilet was ... anyway...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)

Tried another to-day from the Fletcher indoor Marathon plan. 4x15’r4 with the 1st 6’ of each interval done at 290w and <28 spm and the next 9’ at 240w and <22 spm, HR capped at 152 which I did’nt reach so plan next time to go at 295w for each 6’ segment. Tough session but not too tough and certainl...

Re: Crazy Bear question

yes, I do it every year. the information is as you say on facebook. their is a link to a google spreadsheet, where you can add yourself and enter your HM'S. there is no official t.shirt (although the option exists to create our own) no nice bit of paper. I did write to C2 to ask and try and make it ...

Re: How are you using available data?

for what its worth. my answers in blue(ish) HR - tracking effort, tracking recovery, tracking morning resting, observing max - bit of a HR geek - most of my training is heartrate based at certain rates. this way i can compare end paces I like to think that my training is somewhat based on how i feel...

Re: Motivation to Erg

English is a crazy language. I have no idea how people who don't have it as their first language cope. Ask Henri, his English is multiple orders of magnitude better than my Dutch. I can barely say "bier" in Dutch. We could probably communicate together (German/Dutch), might be some funny missunders...

i like yanking henri's chain - but actually the observant would notice its a pun... (no-no is a double negative) I did, hence my comment about it being a joke :D my aopolgies - i tend to take things literal. a joke is a funny story - a pun, a play on words. i wasn't sure what you were reffering to ...

Re: Motivation to Erg

double negatives in english are always a no - no :p I realise that's a joke (or at least I hope it is ), but they're not really. Perhaps some stuffy guide on writing "correctly" claims they are (along with forbidding the splitting of infinitives), but their use is widespread and not restricte...

Re: Expectations!

balance in training and diet. just fast twitch stuff (HIIT, etc.) will bring you the quickest results (fitness wise), but will leave you far from your potential. just slow twitch (slow and steady) will bring you the aerobic fitness, but not speed. normal ratio is about 80/20 (slow/fast) neither will...
