Re: Goals

Take a look at: http://nonathlon.com/rules_scoring.php for some interesting analysis. I think that's a useful approach. For my nonathlon age of 57, the three translate to scores of 959, 980 and 964, implying that 6K at a pace of 1:50 is hardest. (I'd certainly be happy if I could do any of the thre...

BTW, I see the same problem in IE as well.

Your Chrome solution works great! Thanks.

Nike Fit Dry. But I use them much less than I used to. A relaxed grip helps more.

Re: Long distance rows

Yes, music helps. RowPro helps a whole lot more.

Getting a C Breeze helps somewhat with dissipating the heat. Check it out at http://www.ps-sport.net/.

Re: New to rowing - I need speed tips

Hello AdmiralFury. I can only tell you what's worked for me, and it will only work for you if you really like to row. I was about double your age when I first rowed on an erg, so you're already far ahead of me. Use this advice to your best advantage by turning it into something that makes the most s...

Re: U.S. Navy Team is OPEN

Confused. I have no real affiliation with the U.S. Navy. But can I row with them as a genuine gesture of support and appreciation? I thought the Military Challenge was open only to military personnel, and I'm neither military nor a U.S. citizen.

Re: The One Breath Row !

I'm not a great rower, but I can swim 50 meters underwater, which I thought would be enough to make me competitive. Just sent a 173 meter best into the e-mail address. Well behind D. Wiklander, with 257 meters.

Re: Fixed C2 vs C2 on rails

I think slides give a slight advantage, but are definitely slower at the start. So they may be a disadvantage at very short distances.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Something I set up for the first time called 6KtheHardWay:

Intervals for 1,100 + 1,000 + 900 + 800 + 700 + 600 + 500 + 400 = 6,000 metres.

Re: RowPro: which hardware software platforms work best?

A good laptop with a decent video card should be fine. I run on a laptop with an i5 processor at around 60 frames per second. I run Windows 7 and it dies far too often. Trouble seems to happen most often when there are a lot of rowers. I think the server gets bogged down, not my laptop.

Re: Recording meters in online logbook

I used to be a manual recorder and had my own special technique. But I'd never go back, now that I use RowPro (http://www.digitalrowing.com/) which can automatically upload to my Concept2 log.

Re: Paul's Law vs. actual results

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39744416/Concept2%20Online%20Logbook.html Would this be a welcome addition to the site? I'd be willing to contribute my code if so. I'd like to add a "best fit" regression line as soon as I figure out how to do the math involved. It would be easy to make this graph optional ...
