Re: Batteries need replacing or something else?

As far as I know, the Pm5 does function exactly as you've described without batteries.
You could open the back to make sure the batteries have been installed properly and to test them.

Re: new rower, much slower 500m split than gym rowers

I would do several reps of 7 to 10 strokes to max on each machine, and test yourself with some 100s.

I checked the PM5 and says it's setup for model D/E.
Check the gym machines to see how they're set up too.

Re: new rower, much slower 500m split than gym rowers

I've owned three different C2 rowing machines, and couldn't tell any difference in time or pace between them, including many sessions of repetitions, sprints, distance, and quite a few million meters. For there to be a difference of 20 seconds, there must be something wrong with either the model D o...

How to reset pm5 lifetime maters & keep history

Here's how to reset the pm5 lifetime meters, while keeping your workouts! Hold down display and units until a new screen shows requesting the current date and time. Fill in the current information, and save the screen by pressing the 5th button down on the right. Press units / memory / summary to ve...

Re: What Skierg training are you doing?

I'm planning to work on shorter events in May, and to hopefully improve my times for them.
My first workout this morning after an easy week went well: 10x2', 6x1', and 4x100 with active recoveries.

I've been regularly leaving the PM5 plugged into a USB phone charger (but switching the monitor off when not in use).
Will a 5V 2A USB phone charger work well for doing that with a C2 USB cable?

Re: Scalability of Bike Erg?

I haven't used a Bikeerg, but have used a $75 indoor wind training stand with a road bike for decades off and on. When I was having knee, hamstring and glut pain that prevented me from running a few years ago, I walked when my leg would allow, and rode on my bike stand every day, all of which was he...

Steve, thank you very much for your encouraging comments. :D
It's very hot here now, 93 degrees today, so I'm still in recovery mode going easy. 😴

Kini, nice 30/30s and PBs. :D

New 60 minute PB this morning, the first time I've done it. My goal was to stay right on 2:23 pace, and go faster the last 12 minutes. I warmed up for 15 minutes, took my shirt off for the time trial, and did a 15 minute warm down. 60' 12656m 2:22.2 40 187 😃 12:00 2518 2:22.9 41 171 24:00 2517 2:23....

Re: Buying an Model B in 2019

I agree with Cyclist2's post. My estimate for a model B with pm2 (the best C2 monitor) in good working condition is USD$75 to USD$150. You can dampen the sound quite a bit by using roofing paper or truck tire innertube zip tied to the side and perimeter. In that case the sound and drag factor is ver...
