Re: Long-Term Training Question

Going out for track and cross country should help quite a bit.

Re: Runner needs advice - terrible rowing performance :D

I agree that a good runner, who does a lot of training on a rowing machine will get worse at running - not only due to extra body mass, if any, but also due to the slow lumbering rowing rate, which eventually makes the running style likewise lumbering and not so fast anymore. Rowing is also not much...

What's the best way to learn to always keep the same pace? Like rowing at a steady 30spm.Thank you!
I use a metronome and set it for 2 beats per stroke.

Thus the metronome is set to 60 bpm for a pace of 30 spm.

Re: Skierg pb thread

Ray and Fischer, thanks very much. :D

New 100 meter and 1 minute PB's this morning.
100m / 22.6 / 1:53.0 / 58spm / 100df / minus 4.5 seconds
1' / 243 meters / 1:56.2 / 54spm / 100df / minus 3.8 seconds
I was hoping to trim at least one of them, but the results were surprising.

This machine is only about a week old! I guess I should call Concept2 support.
Yes, give them a call, and post the results.

It’s an increasingly active group with far more going on than on here or SlowTwitch.
Why hide it then?

There have been millions of threads and posts on Bikeforums.net, but not even one post about Bikeerg.
Slowtwitch has had millions of postings, but only this one thread about Bikeerg.

Re: What’s your favorite bandage for small hand cuts + rowing or weightlifting?

Sulfur powder helps to heal cuts and abrasions quite rapidly.
Magnesium Carbonate chalk keeps hands dry for a firm grip when lifting heavy weights.
For extra protection, white adhesive tape, band aids, gorilla tape, duct tape, and similar can be used.

Hi, I got my Concept 2 rower yesterday. I'm 57 years old and dodgy knees put a stop to my running,
A very similar thing happened to me recently, which is why I got the Skierg.

I would just work into it gradually and do everything your own way, the same that you'd do with your running.

Re: Bikeerg no good for HIIT

Never heard of this issue mentioned in the Facebook group. I've visited the FB page several times and never see any messages there. Apparently joining the group is required, but I personally don't like FB and don't use it at all. Why not just post on here, or on Slowtwitch where everyone can partic...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Well done, Fischer.
That's impressive to already do a half marathon.
Based on your speed, you're going to continue improving quite rapidly.

I am personally interested in this issue when considering a Bikeerg, and appreciate having an open minded discus...

Re: Employer selling Model C

Make sure the pm2 is working property.
If so, it was an excellent monitor, with fast response, and therefore greater accuracy than the pm3/4/5.
It had a better digital display, and allowed for standing start repetitions, which the pm3/4/5 don't.
