Re: SkiErg 2 Handles

According to Josh at C2, the Skierg cord rapidly cuts through the plastic of the grips, causing the grips to not last very long. Swix doesn't have any ideas for remedies. Does anyone have ideas for strengthening the plastic, to help the grips to last longer? https://oi1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag5...

Re: Low battery / Skierg Pm5

Update with response from C2, 60% should last for quite awhile, but approaching 20% and lower can cause issues. I'll keep using the current ones to see how long they can last, certainly below 50%, and will keep the new ones for back up. I've been experimenting this week with active recoveries, which...

Re: Skierg Force Curve

The Biorow photo is not a good form for the Skierg, for one thing because the guy has his eyes fixated on the monitor instead of focusing on the movement. Justin Farina is fast and has a few records; however he lifts back up with his torso while still pushing down with his arms, which is quite ineff...

Re: SkiErg 2 Handles

I'm ready to order some Nordic ski straps and grips. However, the Skierg cords apparently have a history of wearing through the Nordic ski grip plastic. I wrote to Swix about this and they're looking into possible remedies. Have any of you found this problem with Nordic grips, and if so, how have yo...

Re: What Skierg training are you doing?

That must be gorgeous at 1600' feet. I've been mostly going easy attempting to recover from the 10k last week. Yesterday and this morning I did 5x1' and 4x100, yesterday not getting my heart rate up easily. However, this morning felt much better. I might do a 60' test for the rankings this coming we...

Re: 2k help needed, 8 weeks to go

Hi everyone, so I got 7:31.3 :( You bettered your best time by 7 seconds, right? If so, that's a nice improvement. Since times are based on absolute weight, the world record for your size is only a few seconds under 7. What was your warm up? What were your stroke rates and paces from the start, and...

These are the days of trying to get people removed and/or casting dispersions on those who are better than you, because they don't conform to your limited view of reality.

Re: Low battery / Skierg Pm5

I was doing a lot of intervals in 2018, so I suspect the idle time during rests might have been draining the batteries (PM5 staying on, but no power being generated from the flywheel). Thanks for sharing those details. I took longer recoveries for awhile, which was likely a factor. I'll use these b...

The rechargable battery pack was removed from PM5. For PM4 it never worked terribly well.
Swap out your flattening D-cells for another pair.
Bummer. :(

How low can the charge go before the Pm stops working?

Low battery / Skierg Pm5

The Pm5 battery charge on my Skierg was only 62 percent this morning. I've only had the Skierg for 8+ months. Is that normal? How low can it go and keep working? According to the C2 battery issues link: If using a Pm4, plug the PM into a USB port of a computer overnight to charge battery. Do...

Re: Impact of different types of exercise on your heart

Comparing swimmers and runners: While all of the athletes’ left ventricles filled with blood earlier than average and untwisted more quickly during each heartbeat, those desirable changes were amplified in the runners. Their ventricles filled even earlier and untwisted more emphatically than the swi...

Re: Skierg pb thread

This morning was quite unusual. I've been planning a 30 minute time trial today, however the weather and clouds have been quite grungy, with strange white droplets falling from the sky, definitely not snow. :? It was quite humid this morning, and I didn't want to get sick, so I waited an hour for th...
