I am a male. 5’ 11” , 190 pounds. I see 5K times of 20 minutes or so. That may be too optimistic at my age . Or is it a realistic expectation?
Hard to say without knowing your age.

If you're 95 then it would be very optimistic, but if you're 35 it could be very achievable.

Re: Am I doing "high intensity" wrong??

Lots of people are attracted to sport metrics but too much analysis doesn't REALLY help. Know when to just let go a bit... ;) Yeah, but without the biofeedback from a HR monitor, I've OBVIOUSLY not known "when to just let go a bit". Plenty of people NEVER use one. I hardly ever use one. Like...

A late'ish spur of the moment 30 min row tonight, windows open letting the cool evening air in, had a real nice rhythm going too, felt good :)

Re: Am I doing "high intensity" wrong??

I suspect you'll get rapidly better if you just row with no real structure but much more often. Newbie gains innit. This^^ I rowed for 3 years before i even got myself a HRM. Simply rowed by feel and gauged sr & pacing from that to know where i had to be in any given sessions. It's all quite simple...

Re: Concept 2 Model D Preowned - Help Needed

Seller should have just listed it as a "buy it now" with a fixed price to avoid tire-kickers. Yep!! It's the same as the "or best offer" scenario where you accept the buyers offer and they leave you hanging for payment which never happens. Though it appears that rower sold again to a different bidd...

Heavy legs session yesterday and still feeling the after effects today, particularly in the quads. 5k this afternoon... to burn off the chocolate biscuits more than for any other reason.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Rowed a 6k, this is the fastest i've gone on a 6k for quite some time, and i enjoyed it more than i thought i would have. The erg fitness really is coming along now i'm getting on there much more frequently and pushing myself harder in some sessions :)

It's like any deemed essentials at the moment.

There are twonks asking 60 quid for a can of ambrosia rice and 100 quid for a regular size bottle of handwash.

Yeah grip the handle with less pressure and more relaxed.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Done a WO with Shane Farmer aka Darkhorserowing who was doing a youtube livestream.

1min rows, pushups, burpees, situps, dumbbell curls, 1min rows, repeated for 4 rounds. Really interesting stuff doing it all along with him.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Rowed a 6k, this one felt like quite some work, and RPE around 6. I hadn't eaten and felt hungry throughout which won't have helped. Glad to get it done though :) df125 for this session. https://i.imgur.com/mfWtH9l.jpg Warmdown stretches. Today i done 1hr of weights and some bodyweight training... v...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I've been lifting heavier weights lately and end up with a twinge 2 days later in the upper mid section of my back.. made me feel sickly. Feels like a dull ache now so it's slowly getting better with rest!!! I have a 6k row planned for tomorrow. My last erg session was 30th last month, so not too mu...
