Re: Where does a newbie start?

Hi all, I've only ever been on a rower twice. Out of sheer hatred of the treadmill I tried it, and oppps I think I've found something I really rather enjoy. I have no flipping clue what the stuff on my screen means. Is 4015m in 23 minutes average? Should i be looking at 27 strokes per minutes or is...

5k today. HR still a tad high with the flu recovery but it didn't feel too bad today, just still a bit of a chesty cough! Found a pace and settled into it.

Re: Rate my technique

7 outta 10 from me!! Nice posture, nice quick hands away, i could go on...

With time you will get the rhythm n flow of the rowing stroke down, then this technique could be rated a 10

Aim to do some longer sessions for a true cardio workout... 30mins @ r20-r22 is a good'un for example.

Re: technique video

I didn't realise the vid#2 was a 2k TT  Thats where i noticed the rushed recovery, but on a TT we can let that fly  Another observation from me, the typical hands coming up over the knees on the recovery phase. The hands should clear the knees first, only then do you initiate bending the ...

Re: PM5 potential issue

Can't be that hopeless... it's worked perfectly for over 3 years. This is the first minor issue i've encountered. And it's not even related to the firmware anyway.

anything over 4:15rest on intervals comes up a complete random number
Hm. Sounds like 0x00FF seconds in hex. Not really wanting to tick over to 0x0100 seconds, I guess.
Not sure, but according to C2 this is one of the several issues linked to "Firmware version 12" which is what i'm running.

Re: technique video

You're pulling your arms in too early on the drive, they come in later once you've driven with the legs then swung torso. Also, the whole stroke looks rushed... take your time and slow down the recovery. You waste so much energy with a rushed stroke. And there are no prizes given for a race back to ...

Re: PM5 potential issue

Nah it's running the original firmware that was current in 2014 when the machine was manufactured. I've seen no reason to update it as everything i need is there and works fine! Aside from the anything over 4:15rest on intervals comes up a complete random number, but that is something i can live wit...

PM5 potential issue

After my 30min row today, and after the monitor had automatically turned off after the session, i pressed menu button to get the session details but the PM refused to turn on. Pressed all different buttons but nothing. I then removed the batteries and re-installed them and hey presto the PM is worki...

So many of us have battled some illness this season and it's amazing how it impacts workouts for quite some time. Glad getting better though.
Thanks!

Yeah i couldn't believe how much it had impacted when i started rowing today
