Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

First time back on the erg today after 7 days off. But, i've been working a lot on my weight training in that time!!! I Simply wanted to do a sub 20min 5k, it's been a while. Also, something i seen Carl mention in another thread about him not being able to get any pace @ df110. I myself usually work...

Why is the Drag Factor all over the place ? That is weird.
I was wondering the same thing :?

The 30min row @ df 205 r21 is very odd compared with the rest, especially.

Re: Rowing or Strength first in a given workout session?

I used to row first (priority) Then do strength work after... but eventually, it left me knackered and burn't out, doing it all in the same day.

Now, i do my strength training on separate days from my rowing days. I find this a much better way to do it!!!

Re: New Rower

Rowing at lower rates (18-22) will feel strange to start with so slow it down over a number of weeks (2-4 weeks should be about right), and drop it by 1 or 2 strokes a week. It will feel hard as you're trying to go the same pace with less strokes so you need to use more power for each stroke: anoth...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

An hour of heavyweights last night. 2k workout today. Never bothered checking the DF, but put the damper up just past 5' from the usual position of 4' which is (df112)... and i actually felt more settled pulling 2:00 pace as a result! so i'm going to try some more rowing with the damper @ just over ...

Re: Damper settings / drag factor question

I've toyed about with DF settings, (never on a max df though) can't say i seen any improvement in my numbers. It was more just the feel thing i noticed.

Re: Damper settings / drag factor question

Probably won't make any difference, regardless of what the DF setting is.

Lower df simply means the indoor rower feels like a sleek racing shell, and at the higher df numbers, the indoor rower feels like a slow row boat.

Has had a bit of a hard life though and done 50 to 60 million metres, probably 90% of them outdoors.
Great advertisement for C2 durability :D

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Did 5 minutes on the C2 today for the first time in over a month. The mid back injury was a lot worse than I originally thought. Been doing the AD Pro (Assault Bike) for over a month because every time I've tried to row it aggravated the back. Finally got moved into my new house in AZ up near the m...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

21,097, HM 1:44.4 1:13.27.5 25 spm Wow, just wow - that's impressive! I was happy to hold in the 1:44s for my most recent 5K PB - the idea of keeping that pace for over 4 times as long is just mind blowing. I'd be happy to keep that pace for 6' 500m intervals  Yeah, just wow on that HM. Congra...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

5k today @ 2:03 - r22 (df112) No CD, just 10mins of stretching. I am Really enjoying my rows a lot more since i have stopped rate capping a lot. These days i'm pretty much just working harder and rowing freely, but allowing enough rest between to balance things out. I must say, i feel a lot better, ...
