Re: Fall Team Challenge incorrect stats

All the chalanges are fake news anyway until they bring in verified only rows. I gave up on entering them years ago. Still dissapointed that Concept 2 cannot even introduce ONE verified challange each year. The actual results and sudden lack of certain people might come as a shock.

Re: Rowing in Zwift - suggestion to make it happen

Looks like fun but it shows you how slow and inefficient rowing is for the body. Slow and thats on the flat, cannot imagine trying to go up a hill, may in fact get impossible above a half decent incline due to the intermittent nature of the power delivery, probably need a large flywheel for some rot...

Re: No workout record in just row.

Just don't do a "Just Row"

Thats for people at the gym who cannot be bothered setting up a set time or set distance or don't know how to use the monitor

The "Just Row" has been like that since 2003 when the PM3 first came out.

Re: Used Model B worth it?

Might be fine if you already have a Model B and have been using it for years but if I was looking at getting a rower then a Model B would not be on my list. I'm starting to see Model C's and Model D's in a big enough mess as it is. Essentially if your not a mechanically minded person who can do repa...

Re: Used Model B worth it?

The Model B is obsolete, don't buy one. The biggest improvements Concept 2 ever made was going from the B to the C, its just been small refinements since the Model C. With a quiet kit and a new handle you can turn your Model C into a Model D and then blindfolded you couldn't tell the difference rowi...

Re: D model PM5 update

The best use for a MacBook is a door stop.

Never had a single issue updating a PM monitor even on really old Windows laptops and I have literally updated hundreds of them, many of them twice to get to V101 and then to V108 with the old PM3's.

Re: PM5 circuit board issue

Anything with corrosion is problematic. The early PM2 was a double sided board and thats hard enough but the PM3 onwards are multilayer boards so tracks go open circuit internally within the board so sometimes they simply cannot be repaired if the other end never comes to the outside of the board. T...

Re: PM5 Backlight

Yes you can plug it into a cellphone charger with Alkaline batteries in the PM5, the USB connection is not trying to "Charge" the batteries in the PM5. Many PC's and Laptops these days have an "Always on" USB port as well so even when your PC or Laptop is off, its still supplying the 5VDC via the US...

Re: PM5 Backlight

You need to use Alkaline only batteries like Duracell or Energizer and do not use a USB stick in the monitor because that's where all the power is going. If you still have a problem get a cellphone charger and plug a long USB printer cable from the charger to the PM5 and your batteries will last for...

Re: Interactive virtual software compatible with C2?

Boredom kicks in pretty quickly with the Concept 2 rower, probably 6 months to a year for most people and the rower is up for sale. RowPro has been the only thing that has kept me in the seat for over 10 years now. Unfortunately a hot contender by the name of Zwift are dragging their oars on bringin...

Re: PM3 vs PM5 - Pros and cons?

It depends on your complete set-up as to whether you think the PM5 is better. My PM5 is permanently plugged into a PC so there goes any problems with battery usage. You do not need a memory stick with this setup either, you use ErgData on your mobile phone as it is way better than anything else and ...

Re: Model D PM3 lifetime meters 79

I had to look up how to find that, but it looks like 101 Update it to V108, that's the last firmware update that was made for that version of PM3 back in 2012. It will likely zero the lifetime meters. The ODO is unreliable on those monitors, unless you do a set distance or a set time the lifetime m...

Re: PM3 vs PM5 - Pros and cons?

The PM5 is the way to go if you like to connect to anything external to the monitor.

From the ANT+ heart rate strap to ErgData to RowPro on the PC all at the same time on the PM5 its the only way to go.

Re: Rowing in Zwift - suggestion to make it happen

Really the only alternative to Zwift is RowPro. There is a bunch of other stuff available but if you want to row live online with other people from around the world, there is little to choose from. Just a real shame. The only major hurdle was to get the PM5 on the Erg working with the existing Zwift...

Re: Rowing in Zwift - suggestion to make it happen

They should have just got the native rower PM5 interface sorted out and created a dedicated cyclist graphic wearing a Concept 2 outfit on and then just taken out all the "Rowers" in a set of separate results as not to upset any of the true cyclists after just doubling the rower power output and conv...
