Re: BRIC 2016

Thanks for those tips, very useful. Are you competing this year? Do you have a link to your blog? Yep, I'm back defending my title against the 'youth's' coming through in the 55-59s MHwts lol. Off at 09:40 Unfortunately you can no longer link to my blog as it's demise was part of the ISS website. F...

Re: BRIC 2016

Hi Guy's n Gal's Just read through my 'blog' for last year at BRIC and came across a couple of snippets that may be of interest to people If you're driving and parking in Westfield, Car Park 'A' is the nearest although B & C aren't that far away Make a serious note of where you are parked if you use...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Excellent 10k to say the least; well done! Richard is being modest, looks like he's in first place in the rankings out of 340 (50-59 HWT) and an amazing 16th out of 3400 of all ages. And about 30s off the WR. Pretty damned impressive. Cheers guys. Surprisingly I didn't know I was that close to the ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Don't normally post these but pretty happy with to-days effort :D 10k for the CTC in 34:58.4 (1:44.9) And would have gone quicker, if I'd paced myself for 10k rather than 'dicking' about  . Original plan was warm up (sub 1:45ish pace) during the 1st 2k then drift along at around 280 watts (1:4...

Re: British Rowing added an 'indoor section' to website

Good luck Mark from the training you have posted recently I would be surprised if you were there that long :) Got to do it on the day though! Thanks! That's the right attitude. Never underestimate how hard it is to produce your 'A' game at a specific time on a specific date. Not easy. Best of luck ...

Re: Back to rowing - training plans??

Our understanding of the most appropriate forms of training for rowing have moved on a bit since the WP was conceived. Please, enlighten us. Now that's a comment that did make me smile :D Nice to see you're still around Mike, I'll take this opportunity to say 'thank you' for your plan and especiall...

Found this thread looking for something else, so thought I'd resurrect it to see who's about, for the same reasons it was originally started

Re: Cross Team Challenge - the alternative home

EDIT: I found a bit of code that I'd written a few years ago, some hacking of that makes a usable "ready reckoner". I've written it with 400/300/200/100 as the CTC at the moment because that was easy (the original code was for a rugby test reckoner). I'm struggling with this, YOU HATED THE RUGBY TE...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - the alternative home

Ah found you lol. Been away from the UK forum for a few months and thought it was me when I was trying to log back in. I've also sent them an e-mail trying to find out what's going on, no reply yet but if I do I'll post something on this forum. Good to know there's a few 'armageddon' survivors still...

Re: Why do we fail, and what's the best way to deal with it?

Should I have paddled the 7th interval to finish and then tried again on the 8th? What do others do, or am I the only one to fail on a regular basis? Ultimately I think it comes down to ‘TCUP’ (Thinking Clearly Under Pressure). I went through a spate a while back and to get over it I did what you s...
