Re: PM5 is an immature product with lots of disappointments

I know it's painful when the USB issues crop up and in general there are more problems than I'd like. I do think the benefits outweigh the limitations but look forward to improvements. Tips: 1. Make sure you are up to date with your firmware. 2. After that if you still see regular USB issues try dif...

Re: Help with technique PM5

So yeah I told staff today to clean machine, I cant get more than 89 drag factor on dumper 3/10, on 7/10 i get max 121 and I pull so strong that I feel Im gonna burn all energy for like 500m.. Cleaning should help get the numbers back to normal. I dont know how much that drag factor can impact on s...

FWIW: The ones I've seen it on are late 2014 and one purchased direct from Concept2 a couple of weeks ago.

Re: SPM spikes - normal, steady tempo

I replied on the other thread but I'll also reply here. I've seen the spikes on the output from two different PM5s. They are noticeable in the stroke graph when you use the newer ErgData to upload rows. I don't see them often in my rows but they are much more prevalent in my young daughter's rows an...

Well, besides that anything you rank may be competing in the next age category if you are on the boundary.

Re: Strange spm spikes on easy pull

I have recently noticed that my PM5 is acting weird when i do really easy pulls - spm jumps to 60 or 80 and is all over the place. In order to have good reading i have to give a strong pull. Im not sure whether this is a problem or not, i have noticed it only now because i am recovering from some i...

Re: Competition times as verified workouts

What is the situation with the PM5s? I have the impression that putting a memory stick in is not a simple operation. The one and only time I tried (on a practice machine), it was a hopeless case and most everything I read on the forum reinforces that view. Do you men in general? I use a USB stick i...

Re: PM5 and FitBit Charge HR

The PM5 does not recognize the Fitbit Charge HR. It's too bad and I wonder why it doesn't since the HR is Bluetooth 4.0 compatible (or so it says). Maybe Fitbit wants it to remain a proprietary device to keep it from being intergraded into something somewhat more robust than it is. The PM5 doesn't ...

Re: PM5 Problems

Not sure this helps me with decision to upgrade. My own decision is quite clear and was made several months ago after reading so many postings about the problems many have been having, plus my own brief encounter with the practice machines at C-B last year. The decision is to hope and pray that my ...

Re: New Model D owner - usb flash drive problem

BTW: Is anybody out there who is using the PM5 with a usb Flash, a heart rate belt and ErgData on a mobile device? Last time I tried this, my complete usb logbook was gone. So ErgData is a NO NO for me now. Hello Mat, I use it in exactly this way. I have seen occasional glitches but without data lo...

Re: Couple of PM5 questions

I'm with you Bob, will stick to the PM4 for as long as it lasts, there are no advantages for me to move to a PM5. If they had sorted out some of the long time flaws in the data and really utilised the USB then I probably would have "Upgraded" as it is I don't need all the problems I'm reading here ...

Re: Couple of PM5 questions

It sucks the PMs don't just all use a logcard, or a usb stick. I wish I could log my own home rows from my PM5 and my occasional, with friends, rows on a gym PM3 on the same device.
Progress. Glad I don't have to fiddle with the card often anymore.

Re: UPDATE to Concept 2 Logbook

It is my impression that the main reason that C2 did not supply that data was their use of the limited memory log card in the PM3 and PM4. I was surprised that they didn't make a change in that when they came out with the PM5 with its use of USB sticks with their far greater memories. I was also di...
