I'm in. Looking to do "advanced" challenge this year. I just squeaked out that many meters in January so I should be close to ready though my February meters are pretty atrocious. :?

Re: PM5 Firmware Version 17 Now Available

I believe from what I've read that Garmin has dropped ANT+ Fitness Equipment on their new devices li...

Re: PM5 Lost workouts

I'd just get a new USB stick. My rower I received early January didn't even come with one.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

I did my first this season also, and felt it for a couple days ( I tackled it without any paddded seat  ) Can't imagine  . I row without a pad for normal pieces but when I did my first half marathon Lisa turned me onto using a simple garden kneeling pad and for the extended rows it really...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

I see we are still hanging onto sixteenth but it's certainly close.

After making my goal yesterday I finished off the challenge with my first FM. Feels good?

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Lisa,

You've been the constant presence that always provides fun and encouragement over the last couple of years. I certainly hope you stay around as you would be sorely missed.

Thanks so much,

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

So I'm not thinking about an alternative system, but a concurrent system. Additional rewards rather than alternative rewards. You're right that the rankings are performance based and not distance based. I was thinking more along the line of rewarding consistency and improvement. So rewarding consis...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

I use the NEWER method of calculating maximum HR. Old wisdom said it was 220 minus your age. Now they are saying that's too moderate. I read this in the NY Times a while back. "They" say to take the number 211 and subtract 64% of age for your MRH. http://www.maxworkouts.com/articles/entry/is-the-ma...

It would be really nice if C2 rewarded more than just mega-meters.
It's easy to reward meters. They "reward" pure performance with rankings.

I'm not sure what a good alternative reward system would look like.

Nice, I grew up on the other side of the Cascades and used to visit the Bend area quite a bit. A very nice area.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

And I didn't know Bel was your daughter! (smacks forehead) I love how our team has a lot of family ties. That's great! I meant to mention it when she joined. She was almost as excited as I was when I finally got my rower the beginning of this year. She hadn't rowed before since she couldn't ...

That's down at the harbor in Santa Cruz CA. Sometimes I think the beach is better here in the winter than summer.
