Re: ErgData - interval workout problem

I've just found this post and registered so I can reply... I am a runner, looking to add in come C2 training to boost aerobic capacity and endurance. I've so far done 2 interval sessions on the rower (4x2000/2:00 and 2x5000/3:00). Its a PM4, with the latest firmware, capturing the data using ergdat...

Re: Skierg pb thread

I did a light 15 minute warm-up John, consisting of a mix of treadmill walking, elliptical and then a bit on the stepper, just to raise the hr a little and get the blood flowing. Then on the SkiErg, I just did a few practice strokes and setting the damper/drag factor. I guess I could do more on the ...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Got another new 2k pb today: 10:23.8, so beating my previous by only 2.2s! Bit disappointed at the tiny margin, as this one did hurt a lot despite not going off too fast and pacing it more evenly than before: 2:36.6, 2:36.8, 2:37.0, 2:33.4, overall 2:35.9 It's going to take a lot of work to get belo...

Re: Skierg pb thread

New PB for the 2k tonight: 10:26.0 - beat my old time by 45s. Admittedly, this was only the second one I've done, and I knew my first one was a bit soft, so I didn't have to kill myself to comfortably beat it. Still, as hjs says, a PB is a PB.

Re: Skierg pb thread

New 10k pb this morning, first in my age group to do one this year. I was apprehensive to start, but all went much better and easier than expected. The last 2k was 8s faster than my 2k a week ago. Now I'm going to rest, relax and recover. That's a really good pace for your 10k John. You will have t...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

5x1000m/2:00r SkiErg. This is a tough workout when each km takes about 5:18 to do. Lots of doubts about being able to sustain the pace to the end of each 1k, and really wanted to call it a day after the 4th one. Still, the final 4 intervals all faster than my 1k test PB (5:18.5) so a positive result...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Good one John - looks like you will be able to make a significant improvement on your 5k time and move up the ranking.

I have seen this video of Sam Loch before, but came across it again today and thought it apt to post here:

Re: Skierg pb thread

Thanks John. I was quite surprised by the damper setting 5 - I half-expected it to present to much force for me to sustain, but it was really quite ok. In fact I found myself tuning into catching the fan at the start of the stroke really quite well so that I could get good efficient acceleration ear...

Re: Skierg pb thread

Did a 5k this afternoon, and although it's my first proper attempt I'm going to claim it as a PB. 27:37.8 @ 2:45.7, 37spm. That's 2s per 500 faster than my 2k best, so very pleased with it. I do like this kind of distance / time and really enjoy the point somehere about halfway through where the rat...

Re: Ergdata additional fields

Just seen this. I'm using ErgData Android and am finding that I sometimes get df recorded to the logbook, and other times not! Not sure yet if there's any pattern to it e.g. does it record it if I display the middle screen with df, stroke count, drive speed etc? Today, on a fixed distance workout, I...

Re: Getting data to connect to other apps and things

Yes, I've just had an ErgData failure - splits data hasn't gone through to the logbook, can't download the TCX or FIT files, and the workout has completely failed to push through to Strava. Posted about it in another thread (in the online racing sub-forum).

Re: ErgData - interval workout problem

Thanks Stewart - were you also unable to download the TCX & FIT files?

Looks like I shall have to start recording on my Garmin too.

Re: Ski Erg for Max Cardio-How To Maximize?

I'm 5'3. I would say my arms are significantly proportionally longer than my legs. I think I can easily finish with my hands midway down my shins. It would be interesting to video and view my action. I'm possibly overdoing all of the crunching, squatting and arm pulling bits. The other thing is that...
