https://s18.postimg.org/ggl6clqad/IMG_20180127_095835_276.jpg Improvement on last Saturday's HM by 1min 24 so I'm making progress but I still have some way to go to get to where I want to be. I had to stop at 60 mins for a quick break and to have a word with myself so that needs to be sorted out; I...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Wanted another solid Vo2max workout today, but wanted to avoid the ever present urge to go 'just a little faster'. So instead of doing 1K intervals, I tried 1250 intervals for the first time (no previous best time to beat). After 30 minutes on the stationary bike, followed by Fletcher's 2K race war...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Don't worry about it Lance! It's worse at OTW regattas, sometimes you're waiting up to an hour at the start line! I'm sure you'll nail it especially in a race environment with all of the motivation. Give it your best shot! Today : Tried a 10',9',8',7',6',5' with 3' rest at target 30' pace but my hea...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
10k PB this morning. 37:33.7 for a pace of 1:52.6 21st place in GBR 50-59 age group. I feel there's more to come. That was hard but not desperate. I find longer pieces easier. I'll try a 2k PB in a couple of weeks. Those things fill me with dread! Some bouldering and abs and ring work now. Superb 1...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Thank you, Scott, improving gradually. :) Cheers Stu! Erg goals, I guess I want to acquire/improve my aerobic base, so I see the best way to do that is via volume, some harder pieces, some recovery-ish/UT2. So to achieve that I'm just trying do as many HMs I can throughout the year, improving my PB...

Good Day, Cycle 5/ Week 3/ Day 2 10k steady state @2:03/500 with 25spm I have decreased the steady state by meters and increased on spm. I am going to alternate this lower distance/higher spm with my usual pieces each week moving forward to allow some additional recovery time on race weeks and to f...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
A small beast that must be 30 min PB TT is a tough one.. if you go faster you won't finish any sooner You will soon enough beat all your targets, you have some great years in front of you Thanks! 6'2" is not small! Today: 100m attempt in 0:17.8. Meh. I know I'm faster than that! Decided to do a 50:...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Thanks! 6×1500 tonight alternating r22 and 26! It's a toughy but I feel up to it. Also a good indication of 5k.Dangerscouse wrote:@ Scott, good idea. Step back and regroup and build up slowly. 30mins is too much, at the moment, but you'll get there soon enough.
