Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Scott, you're going to kill it Friday! Good luck! After a steady diet of tempo 5Ks and 8 x 500s this past 6 months, I tried a nice comfortable 2:10ish 5K for the first time. Kind of amazed how enjoyable it was. :) Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M 21:37.6 5,000m 2:09.7 160 851 25 109 4:28.0 1,000m ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Well done Lance. It does look like those longer ones need a retest considering your 2k times. I could never bring myself to row one 2k PB per month let alone two, but it does seem you are particularly strong on the shorter pieces. Congrats!

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Pete Plan 4 X 2K (Week 2 / Day 3) with 5' rest. Honestly, this is the one I dread the most. Absolutely hate this workout but it serves a purpose. If you can do 4 X 2K at a decent pace, you're going to gut out a 2K all out. I've been recording good times (for me) lately. I haven't been looking up, i...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
@ Scott. Good decision. You will more than likely have fallen short of a PB and frustrated yourself even more. A full days rest will really help too. It's just as important sometimes I doubt I would have fallen short of a PB if I'd done one and finished but rather I would have not got the PB I was ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Today: No PB attempt just an easy 10k. I tried doing this blind, but I lacked a bit of discipline throughout continually checking progress at the end of every song which brought my average up a fair bit. Maybe next time I'll try to not look at the monitor the whole time and see how I go. It takes a ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
5x1500/5. Strong session- delighted to have the average sub 1.50. How have people found that this piece is reflected in 2k and 5k times? For me it seems to be a bit faster than my 5k pace. I rowed this session at sub 1:48 and then two days later rowed a hard but submaximal 5k at 1:50.6. I doubt I c...

Re: Weight Adjustment - how much meaning should I make of it
Hello! It has been a while since I posted on here (my last post was about if I could improve a lot). I lost a lot of motivation after hitting 8:40 (nearly threw up afterwards and could barely walk for nearly half an hour afterwards — I guess I burned myself out mentally a little bit!!! :o ). Anyway...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
I'm with Tom on this one Scott. Choose your next attempt wisely as another HD will be quite demoralising. If I was you I'd do a 10k at circa 2 secs under the previous pace or whatever a sustainable but still hard pace is, and maybe crank it up at the point that you started to fail, whilst reminding...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Today: A stupid HD! I am so pissed off with myself. This morning I thought I'd go for a 10k TT. I'd never felt more up to it. 26:25.5 6544m @2:01.1 r24 7:50.8 2000m 1:57.7 r25 7:51.5 4000m 1:57.8 r25 7:47.6 6000m 1:56.9 r25 2:34.0 6544m 2:21.5 r21 Why did I do it. That puzzles even me. Re: Pete Plan Thread
Good Day, Cycle 5/ Week 1/ Day 6 HM TT 1:23:50.4 for a new PB of 1:59.2/500. After the Patriots game last night and all the libations and newly legalized recreational fun we have here in Maine, today was bound to be difficult, but when I know I could have done the night before differently, I don't ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Decided on a HM today after taking a kicking on the training ride yesterday. Pulled it down to an average of 1:59 by the end. Flat on my back ever since! Easy week due now. Let's see what the rebound gives me! Great HM Nigel! I think you're definitely due a break! Today: Thought I'd try a UT1 35:00...
