Re: New iPhone app Concept2 Indoor Rower: "ErgData"

I'm using the app all of the time and really like it. One question, I thought once the heart rate belt was remembered by the app it connected to it automatically, at least thats what I thought it was doing. But now I'm having to connect to the belt via the monitor for it to show in the app. Is there...

Re: Newbie's & more - Want to do a weekly thread? Feb 25

Any newbies interested in joining a new Team and Affiliation? I have started the "Japan & Friends Indoor Rowers" (I live in Japan) Affiliation and Team to help keep my interest up. Presently there are just two of us joined up to both, but this puts us on the board. We're open to any and all to join ...

Re: Fat Noob needs starting advice

OK, so The Great Fatsby and I have joined up and are together making a considerable bow-wave in the World Erg Challenge! I have changed the Affiliation and Team names both to Japan & Friends Indoor Rowers, hopefully this will help entice a few more to add their meters to our Team and Affiliation. To...

Re: New Affiliation/Team: Japan Indoor Rowers

OK, name change to reflect our now international membership, Japan & Friends Indoor Rowers. We have two in the Affiliation and in the Team now so we're taking part in any and all challenges. All welcome, no meter total too small! Wayne

Re: Fat Noob needs starting advice

I don't know if it's necessary to be on a Concept 2 machine to be on teams here but if not i'd be glad to join a rowing team if you'll have me. I've got quite a bit of weight to lose so I may be the slowest on the team but I will definitely do my part. PLEASE JOIN! You have a logbook so it should b...

Re: Fat Noob needs starting advice

Thanks Ken & Blaze. I'm feeling pretty good today, I've completed the Mud Season Challenge, in 25 days, may even just continue through the end of the month.

No takers? I just need one person to join who's willing to take part in the team challenges also.

Re: Fat Noob needs starting advice

I was following this thread and haven't seen any posts for a while, so my turn I guess. I'm a 400 pounder, bought a model D and started rowing for the first time in the last week of January. Why, kind of a New Year resolution I suppose. My goal, to lose 165 pounds. After the initial soreness and twe...

Re: "Walking" Rowing Machine

OK, still working to ensure my technique doesn't slip, but added non-slip rubber pads under the machine's feet and it doesn't move at all now.

Re: "Walking" Rowing Machine

OK, still haven't added a non-slip mat but managed to do a pb 5,000m last night with only about 10cm movement overall by the end! Thanks again. Wayne

New Affiliation/Team: Japan Indoor Rowers

Hi All, I'm a newbie to indoor rowing but have gotten the bug after buying a model D in late January of this year. I live in Japan and don't know of any indoor rowing communities here so have created a new affiliation, Japan Indoor Rowers, and I'm looking for ANYONE to join this group and also then ...

Re: "Walking" Rowing Machine

Thanks all. I am working on my technique, not pulling against the foot straps and not jerking the chain at the catch. While I really need to concentrate on this I can see that when I do I am not walking the machine (maybe a tiny bit). Will persist until I get it right. Cheers, Wayne.

Re: "Walking" Rowing Machine

Thank you all for the advice. Being a new rower, and a very hefty out of shape one, I kinda figured it would be technique. I will try and work on the technique to see if I can resolve it this way. The floor is polished wood, so perhaps not the best. I will try a non-slip mat perhaps. (1:42!!!!! That...

I think you have to add the belt to the log card memory. I am using the ergdat app on iPhone which now remembers the Garmin belt also.

"Walking" Rowing Machine

I'm a new indoor rower, bought a D and received it at the end of January. My question is, is there a simple fix to stopping my rower walking? At first it was a small movement during a workout, but after an 11,000 meter workout last night I found the rower has literally moved 50cm backward. I don't w...
