And going onto the log screen of the ErgData app, the workout is not there. Pressing sync gives no workouts to s...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

The infamous "Parrot Bash" training run. Said to be as hard an an elite road race. Up to 70 start, usually a group of less than 6 reaches the café first (which usually includes me). The weak are left straggled miles round Nottinghamshire! (We ride sociably at other times... Saturday is whe...

Re: Travel and Training

Thanks. Seems like I have to wake up at UK waking up time while still over the Atlantic then, and just force myself to stay awake from then until I get home. Ugh!

Re: Travel and Training

My travel training issue is jet lag. Europe to West Coast is not too bad. The day after arriving, I get up early, and get on my USA bike (I keep a Trek Madone out there), and my West Coast rhythm is kicked off. I stay there a couple of weeks, and it's not that difficult to adjust. There's a gym at t...

Re: Heart Rate Training

I agree. That is the most useful thing about heart rate.

It's an indication of how your body is responding.

I might start wearing the belt!

Re: Heart Rate Training

I do not see the utility of heart rates when you have an objective work rate monitoring apparatus on your erg. Coming from cycling, where HRMs have been in use for years, cyclists are switching to power meters where affordable/available. The heart rate is only a proxy for the power being produced by...

Re: Unconventional methods for improving grip

Heh! I'm a new rower, and used to do a lot of rock climbing (Trying to get back into it on a woodie in my garage right next to the concept II) and a keen cyclist (Big garage) Birds of a feather... I use what climbers would call "open handed" grip. What seems to be called a hook here. But I do just c...
