10k PB this morning.

37:33.7 for a pace of 1:52.6

21st place in GBR 50-59 age group.

I feel there's more to come. That was hard but not desperate. I find longer pieces easier. I'll try a 2k PB in a couple of weeks. Those things fill me with dread!

Some bouldering and abs and ring work now.

Badly paced HM. Wanted a PB, so pulled the average down to 1:56 by running 1:54 for too long. Cracked, and dropped to 2:10, and only just ended with under 2:00 at the end.

I should have started faster! Will have another go this week.

Now a little ring work, abs, and bouldering.

Easy week sorely needed. Warmed up very slowly from about 3:30 over 10 minutes. Then a 5000m piece starting at 2:17, and very gently speeding up to 2:09. Just enough to get a slight sweat on. Then abs, stretching, and some ring push ups.

Decided on a HM today after taking a kicking on the training ride yesterday. Pulled it down to an average of 1:59 by the end.

Flat on my back ever since! Easy week due now. Let's see what the rebound gives me!

Tried intervals again today after feeling my back was up to it after a couple of weeks of it being tweaked. 8x500m/2:00r ending up with 1:43.0 average. Still got a tweak at the base of my back on the left. So warmed up slowly and then only slowly increased pace in my 10k. Went from 2:04 to 1:58 by the end. Then some rings and ab work. Back too tweaked to do stretching. Will have to delay my new year, sub 7 2k until I can tug really hard without pain.

10k today. Last 300m of each done at 1:44 then trying to pull back to a steady 2:00r25 afterwards. Not regular rowing training which is for high, steady state power, it's more cycling orientated. Sub 7 in January after resuming Erg training in November.

Sub 6:50 2k by April
10k @1:50 pace by April

One arm lock off on rings by April.

Then some top 10 Strava placings on those long climbs back in Vaucluse in spring and summer, and some 7b+ rock climbs.
