Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Back to trying hard now. First session was 8x250m/1:10r. Ended up with a decent even pace with not much decay, and an average of 1:38.2. (Wish I could link those up for a 6:33 2k, but those were desperate, gasping, maximal efforts) Bit of bouldering afterwards. Lunch time make up metres. 10k with th...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Bit tired. Back to proper hard training this week. 10k. 2:00.7 25 1:58.8 26 1:58.5 26 1:58.7 27 1:50.2 33 Tested myself out on that last split. I'l like to get a 1:50 10k one day, and I'd have to be able to pull 1:50s at the end. Seems a way off, that was super hard. I'm going to aim for April for t...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

5k at r20. Awful. Was gasping and emitting a loud "ugh!" at the end of each stroke towards the end. Couldn't say when I started that. Hope I didn't disturb the neighbours too much. High force at low rates is my weakness. Will work on it. I have good aerobic capacity, so if I can increase the force, ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Easy week. 5000m in 19:17.9 for 1:55.7. Capped at r24, as that is my weakness. Cardio wise, I did 5000m at 1:50.9r30 with reasonable stress on Tuesday. This power output felt much harder to me, so will work on this from now on. Some abs, stretching and bouldering. The moves on real boulder problems ...

5k at 2:00. High rate, low force, just to get hot. Light abs, ring roll outs (from knees for now) Hoping to come back strongly next week.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

British Championships 7:01.6 for Silver in the 60-64 Lightweights ...winner was 6:56.6 so was never going to beat that but disappointed with my time.(The winner was Italian so it's some consolation that I was top Brit I suppose). I was tired all the way and had nothing for the last 500. That was 2 ...

Five hour bike ride in the bitter cold. Two punctures so finIshed on a flat.

Easy week due I think. I'll be doing 5k pieces as training sessions for instead of 10. Will makes Tuesday's a time trial though to see how I am.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

10k at r20 to learn how to pull hard again, and concentrate on the action and recruitment. Tried for the OCD of R20 all the way at a 2:00 pace. Not quite got the pace judgement back, but close.

Abs, stretching, lock offs on rings, dumbell curls.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Two years to the day after my overtraining burnout according to the pathetic, whiny post brought up by Facebook from my "on this day"... 10k test, got my all time PB. 37:44.3 @ 1:53.2 r30 1:53.5 28 1:53.2 30 1:53.3 30 1:53.9 31 1:51.9 33 Fourth split, I took a deep breath, and a few hundred metres e...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I started off going for 2k and 5k PBs almost every session... Had a period of sub-par health... I suspect the two could be related. Sounds as if (like me), you're a bit obsessive. I made myself ill by overtraining and also am just coming back. My comments in the online concept2 logbook after my 2k ...

Re: New member, hi all

Hi Steven. Long time cyclist here too. I find rowing to be excellent cross training. As you say, more bang for the buck. A few years ago I won a lot of CTT time trials through incorporating rowing into my training time. Don't be fooled by people who tell you sub 7 is easy. It is very difficult. Do n...
