Re: Thor Update

Hey guys. Well I had a good run in March. I set two new world records for the visually Impaired over 50 category. I placed third in the world sprint so a medal is on its way and I got the first 17 days of the Mud in too. Then it happened. After a nice 10 to 15 minute warmup I did a 4X500M rest 1 mi...

Re: Prizes and manipulation

For a long time I have found some of the distances erged per day to be quite suspect to me. That doesn't, however, make them untrue. Some people can do some amazing things. I have seen that some entries are actually for many people, e.g. a school entering as one 'person' with many, many rowers. I do...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

Hi Folks About to fall off the ladder, or whatever, the gym I use is only available to me 6 days per week, not Saturdays. Unfortunately this season there are 5 Saturdays in March so I started with only 1 spare day and have burnt 2 in physio. Only managed this challenge when I had a C2 at home but n...

Re: Fishermen

No doubt a lot of you OTW rowers row on lakes/rivers/reservoirs/etc. that are shared by others. I was reminded today about fishermen in boats. I was out on Hood Canal, a huge body of water - Navy ships ply it routinely. It was pretty quiet today. I saw a few small boats out, but far away, no wakes....

Re: 2000 meter time

Sounds to me like you were possibly rowing on non C2 ergs, prior to switching gyms. I have seen similar posts to this quite a number of times before, but the person was rowing on an entirely different machine to a C2. WaterRower machines for example. They give more generous times than a C2!!! This!...

Re: First million

Through my first million meters last night :) Another certificate for my garage wall! :D Bought my C2 Model D PM5 off eBay May 2018... had been thinking of getting one for a while to halt the fitness decline and needing to do something about hitting 50 then one popped up about 2 mins from my office...

Re: Back after a long absence

Good Morning Luna-Tics, I've been off of my rowing machine and the forum for YEARS due to some family issues which took us from GA to NY where we are now, coupled with a few knee and shoulder surgeries. But I've got my rowing machine back in my life and all of my limbs are working as intended so we...

Hi Jill, really good to read your story too, I don't think you waffle on at all. Yesterday my team decided to have a McDonald's for lunch, where we all pool our lunch money and someone goes out and gets as much as they can from the saver menu, four weeks ago I would have been there, but the concept...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

Hi team! I joined the team earlier this week and wanted to introduce myself. I've had my Concept2 Model D for a little over 8 years. My logbook shows lifetime meters at about 700k meters. I have logged 210k of those in the past six weeks. I loved the thing when I got it, but I stopped rowing - I'm ...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

One of my sons was a competitive swimmer. From the time he was small, his coaches always emphasized “personal best.” As someone who is short and about to turn 77, I have no other choice—that is, to the extent I even think about all these numbers. The pace and distance are there to see if you want. ...
