Hi all!
This is my focus tonight.
As I understand it, basically, you use your arms when your legs are locked.
Would someone mind watching my form on insta?

Re: Mizuno British Rowing Indoor Championships
I like the idea of a Birminham NIA event. 30 minutes down the road from me. Will check that out. @ two pudding kid, I think my 2,000m time was the second time I ever rowed last week to get a benchmark. Not done a 2,000m since. I've made a conscious decision to row 5 times a week for about 20 minutes...

Re: First 5,000m
Thanks Ombrax.
I'll have a snoop on the forum around projected finish times to see how it's effected.

Re: First 5,000m
Hi all! Thanks for all your replies. So i'm half way through my experiment. Another 5,000m. Damper 4. Another PB: 21m30.9s. I feel like my technique is improving. Focus tonight was maintaining a straight back. Tomorrow will be maintaining a straight back but also trying to maintain a consistent pull...

Re: First 5,000m
Nice call! I wish I thought of that before. Changing now will mess up my sample size. So.... tonight was interesting. I was too excited to jump on the rower and worked out too soon after eating. I could have easily renamed my rower to the vomit comet! I was sure I wasn't going to finish either. But ...

Re: Building Muscle Strength and Bulk
Interesting thread. I don't think you can build any significant mass on a rower. Just tone up and lean out. But, as a joke, here's some weighted wearables! Can anybody imagine wearing this on a rower? How about in a public gym  Sam Wrist weights Ihttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Xn8-Sports-Wrist-Weight...

Re: First 5,000m
Hi all! I cannot wait to get on the rower tonight. Any one else get that feeling? Probably still the novelty of it all for me...! I'm so intrigued to see how my little experiment will play out. Damper setting 3 tonight. Assuming I do my 5,000 meters tonight that'll be 21,000m in my first week! Get m...

Re: Mizuno British Rowing Indoor Championships
Thanks JMac.
We're all but the same age, weight and height. Your times are something for me to aspire to.
No sporting background unless a a math-lete counts? Lol.
I used to bodybuild though. Nothing serious - just amateur. Still lift every week depending on lower back.

Re: Mizuno British Rowing Indoor Championships
Many thanks Lindsay. A great thread. Something for the future for sure - once I start taking rowing more seriously in 2020. As my lower back gets better and I lose weight. This may sound silly, but I won't be "training" for this event because I am going to the event for a day out more than anything....

Re: First 5,000m
Evening all! I appreciate the advice. I have read the information - thanks. Not to go against your advice but I want to empirically validate. I may even regress the data to see what is my best bang for buck. Tonight's 5,000m was at damper 2. Set a new PB: 22m25.5s. c.20 seconds faster than at damper...
