Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Nicely done Scott! Sounds like you had a good plan and stuck to it. Feels good to go sub 19 eh? As for your 2k, I wouldn't be surprised if you go sub 7:10 on your next test. Thanks Tom. Yeah it feels pretty good. I paced it specifically because I knew if I didn't I'd blow out at the start like so m...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Well done Scott. Neg splitting is important as well as getting the PB. How did it feel when you finished? Did you empty the tanks or have more to give? When are you trying for the 2k PB? I think you should try fairly soon to ride on the crest of the confidence wave that you have got going right now...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

It's been a while since I posted on this thread, but I am glad to report a new 5k PB! 5000m 18:58.3 @1:53.8 r25 This is exactly what I had hoped to get so I am very happy! Paced it like: 1:55 for 2000m, 1:54 for 1500m, 1:53 for 1000m and 1:52 for 500m. Obviously this wasnt the exact pacing but it wa...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Got on the erg a couple weeks ago intending to pull a SS 10k at about 2:00/500m pace. When I first started pulling it felt so easy at first I thought there was something wrong with the gym erg (I knew it had been broken fairly recently). It felt so easy that I thought I would go for a PB, thinking ...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

So long as you stick to your race plan and your goal isn't overly ambitious I have no doubt you'll do just that Scott! Thanks! Target at the moment is sub 19. Hopefully that is not over ambitious! @Scott- it is really fun reading along as you progress so rapidly in technique and time. With your hei...

Today: 2×8000m SS Targets was my target 5k pace (1:53-4) plus 10-12 16000m 66:24.0 @2:04.5 r? 8000m 33:31.2 @2:05.7 r? (guess it was about 17) 8000m 32:51.2 @2:03.2 r? (guess it was about 21) On target. The first 500m of the first one was light pressure working on technique so that factored into spl...

Managed to get a 500m PB of 1:17.8.

That was good enough for 3rd! :)

Very high quality race, I think the winner got 1:17.1
That's a big PB well done!

That's quite ambitious! If you feel you've got it in you to drop 2 splits a week then go for it!

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

I managed to knock off 10 mins off my 75km PB. It's now 5:29:15 and was 5:39:42. I guess I have set an 85km PB too, which was 6:23:15 (not got.to 85km before) but it should have been a 100km distance so it's a bit of a frustration. 'Dr Google' is telling me it's exercise induced asthma due to the A...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Today:

2×30:00 free rate. 1:30 rest.
Targets first over 7500 and second over 7400.

14985m @2:00.1 r22
7533m @1:59.4 r23
7452m @2:00.7 r22

Pretty pleased with this. Sad that I couldn't get that 15m extra but oh well. Save that for another day. Not bad although I probably should have rated higher.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

New account!

I think Stu is right. Once you get over the mental side it'll all become natural. That's not to say it will be easy but once you get training in the fast stuff then your mind will adjust to it again.
