Re: Pete Plan Thread

Ha Jack, yeah I should have done that! Street, great to see you! Hopefully, you're staying busy with not being able likely to climb in the Winter! Thanks! @ Tom - I'm not sure what's next but rowing is still going to be a huge part of my training this year. My longer term goal has been get close to...

Re: Pete Plan Thread

Starting PP hybrid version(adding my newly arrived skierg into the equation), will follow most workouts but will also add some capacity training for the skierg, so the plan might drag out compared to the original setup. Today it was 8x500m/3:30r row on the plan. Fasted morning workout as usual. Qui...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Yesterday: Weights + 30:00 SS with an all out minute every 5. Minutes were at about 1:41-3. Average was @2:00.9 so not bad. SS at r24 so was pretty easy to hold around 2:00. Today: 6×500m 2:00r. I know that the rest is a bit stupid but it's what coaches have us. I died anyway. 3000m @1:43.4 r29 500m...

https://s10.postimg.org/d5zrwmfgl/IMG_20180131_074320_276.jpg 10km done. 5 secs off my PB but I'm sure I can do better than that PB too. Really surprised with this as I'm currently not in good form, but I have suspected it's more of a mental issue. Hopefully this is just what I needed. I had a wobb...

Re: Using Paul's Law to predict my 2K race pace

To be honest I know that you really want to dial on your time for a 2k but the worst thing you can do is overthink it. Stick to your plan and do what feels good on the day. It will be what it will be and if you stress about it too much you will not get the results you want. (Trust me I've done it!) ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Paul - Agree with the others here, as impressive as your 2K goal is, it sure appears it's only a stepping stone to even more. Keep up the good work! I've also found a little higher DF to my benefit @ 2K. It feels like I get a quicker and more solid connection immediately @ the start of my drive. St...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Getting there @ Stu @Scott, some serious metres in your 8+ there! What kind of intensity is that done at? Low rate. Probably about 18-22 and full pressure, so hard strokes. I'd say probably high UT2/Low UT1. Very technique focussed as well so overall a hard but rewarding session! Stop for turns ever...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

30 minutes at 20spm Average pace............... 1:56.9 Metres....................... 7695 DF......... 130 (raised from the 125 of last week) NEW PB! (for 20 spm....free rate for 30 mins would be around 36-37spm and over 8020m) This was an improvement of 0.4 on average pace and 22 metres in total fr...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Brilliant David. If you think about it that .2 is only 1/20th of a split, which was probably caused by the race start. That is literally the difference going a split lower in the last 100m would make. It would have been nice to go sub 6:50 but you're basically there and with the right pacing I have ...
