Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Good Day, As a lot of you get ready for BRIC, I am still working towards Feb Crash B's and I am sure there will be some ridiculously awesome PB's coming this weekend, so I will put mine in now so it gets buried. HAHA. After three cycles on the Pete Plan, or my version of it, I was able to drop my 2...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

I know you'll see much more impressive stuff over the weekend but I thought I'd kick things off! New 10k PB! I'd never actually done a proper attempt at a 10k PB until today but I'll definitely take this. Sorry in advance for the 1k splits. 10,000m 39:32.7 @1:58.6 r23 1000m 3:59.8 @1:59.9 r24 2000m ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Today: 2×6000m at moderate pace, wouldn't say it was really easy. Targets were 2:03.8 (5k+10) for everything except last 300 of the 2nd. 12000m 49:12 @2:03.0 r20 6000m 24:44.5 @2:03.7 r20 6000m 24:26.4 @2:02.2 r20 Happy with this. It wasn't SS but it definitely wasn't hard. Last 300 must have been a...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Yesterday:
Weights session at the club followed by 30:00 strapless SS.
30:00 7208m @2:04.8 r20
Nice easy stuff, exactly 5 splits above my 30r20 PB. It's very odd rowing strapless!

Re: New member, hi all

Lets not forget that lightweight woman pull sub 7 2k s. If you can,t match that, being young and average build, you are not fit.
I am tall (6'4") and fit but I have no chance of pulling a sub seven 2k (at least for the moment) as I am 14. Being young can be a disadvantage you know!

hjs wrote:You can,t be fit and not pull sub7. Ok ish trained you need zero erg training to pull sub 7.

Last month a guy who never rows at my gym tried a 500 twice. 120.x and 1.17.x tye second time. Rating only 32.
But big 120kg and strong.
A 2k and a 500 are very different ball games don't forget!

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Nice 30 minute Rod. Strong stuff

Today:
16k in the 8+. Not too bad.
4k in the 2-. Feeling very good and progressing fast.

2 minutes of plank. 1 minute ski sit. 3×30 air squats at maximum effort.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

So I finally did my 100km and it was intensely horrible. Pure hell. I managed to complete it in 7:52:44 but it was more than an effort to just finish it. From about 30k I knew it was a bad day and it would be a real struggle. No idea how but I managed to squeeze out a 1:56 pace for the last 3km. I ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Yesterday: 150 air squats. Plan is to do 100-150 every day to work the legs and hopefully bulk up slightly although I'm more focused on how fast I go on the erg rather than how big I get, but it wouldn't be a bad side effect to put on a bit of muscle. Today: 12k OTW in the 8+ with 2×2k time trials. ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

@Scott for the 10k my advice is to try and zone out and I always think in terms of breaking it down into chunks e.g. 25% 50% 75% and don't let your inner voice convince you to stop. Having a mantra repeating around your head might help too e.g. Tom Brady's quote "I haven't come this far to only com...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

@ Scott - great work! You're progressing very fast! You've done all the legwork/hard work, so you should be proud of yourself. Just glad that you're taking the time to share both your work and your progress with all of us. Not enough young people take advantage of this forum. You seem like an old s...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

So close to hitting 8k in 30min, but came in with 7942m, which was a 130m improvement on previous 30min PB. What's most surprising is that that time is 86th percentile and my other PBs are 81st/82nd - the 30min didn't feel that much tougher. Very well done, that is a great improvement! Great going ...

Well done Stu! 21k at 1:51.8 are you mad? Great strength work @Shawn Baker! Another PB coming in hot! This time 30r20. Re: Pete Plan 2017

Good Day, @mitchell - the sprints on the plan are, "suppose," to be done all at the previous attempts average, except for the last one. This way the average does not decrease too quickly on you. However, I am in the same boat as you and today was only the second time I have been able to follow the ...
