What weight assumption is in the PM3 calorie computation

Post by henryec3 » April 22nd, 2008, 10:06 pm

What is the base weight assumed in the calorie computation in the PM3? Interesting to see amounts of calories consumed. The actual amount would vary by rower's weight. lighter person burning fewer per same stroke rate as heavier person. I'd like to figure a closer estimate from the ERG totals. For example, ERG shows about 760/hr calories at 2:17.7 and an online calculator at caloriecontrol.org gives 720 calories per hour rowing at 150 pound rower weight. That other site's calculator doesn't have rowing rate variables.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
