The room that I row in has poor lighting. It would be very nice if there was a screen display light built into the monitor for night time rowing.
Has anybody hooked up a led light that mounts neatly onto the top of their monitor so it would light up the display. I am looking for ideas and pictures to help in making this a simple project.
If concept 2 people are reading this, I think removable, nice looking display light would sell, I would buy one and their are probably many others that would too.
Looking forward to some responses, thanks

The pm2 was much easier to read in dim lighting conditions.
When I was rowing in the dark, I had a small light set to the side/back,
so it would light only the monitor but not towards me.
This worked well.

If you have a USB outlet close by...like a laptop, then this might be a good idea.

Re: display light, night time rowing
The USB on the PM3/PM4 is a USB-B so it's the wrong shape for most USB-A devices.rowland wrote: Has anybody hooked up a led light that mounts neatly onto the top of their monitor so it would light up the display.
I'd use a USB hub connected to my laptop with one socket from the hub connected to the PM4 for RowPro and the other connected to a lamp as Brian suggested.
The PM3/PM4s have a control for the LCD contrast that can help when the ambient light isn't bright enough or in the right direction.
This is a frequent request as part of the design for some future "PM5" monitor.
You could try a head-torch. http://www.sailgb.com/c/petzl_head_torches/
thanks for the replies.
I do not use my lap top when rowing, so any suggestion involving a lap top won't work. thanks brian
I have thought about hooking up some sort of head lamp, reading book lamp or a bike light, thanks citroen,
I was hoping that some one had already done it and had some pic of it
