I just bought a Model B from my workplace gym, and I need to remove it by Monday.
I just found out that the Model B doesn't separate as easily as all the other Concept 2s I am familiar with, and my car (Honda Fit) is too small to fit it completely assembled.
Does anyone know a quick and dirty way of disassembling it? Or any way really.
It seems like there are four bolts that connect the flywheel part to the slide, but I'm stumped on what to do with the chain?
Any advice is appreciated!
Thank you!

Documentation for model B is here: http://www.concept2.com/service/indoor- ... schematics
Re: Quick Model B Disassembly method?
As you can see from the schematic, it doesn't come apart easily. It's a real pain to move it alone, and it doesn't fit anywhere tight (like the back of small cars) very easily. Mine pretty much stays in its spot in the garage. Wish there was an easy way. Good luck!

I just bought one a week go and confirm it was a pain to move. Disassembling it is a project (I had to clean mine of rust and fully broke it down). Good luck, hopefully you have a big vehicle, I jammed it in an SUV.

Rikkansi,
Easiest if you don't disassemble at all- hang it out a window or leave the trunk open, but if it needs to be broken down:
You'll need the following:
* short piece of stiff wire, like a bicycle spoke
* a hammer
* 2 9/16" wrenches
* 1/2" wrench
1. Put the wire through a link in the chain close to where it comes out of the monorail and give it a few twists. This will keep the chain from fully retracting once you take the handle off.
2. with the hammer tap on the backside of the handle u-bolt to drive the nuts out of the handle. Remove the two nuts and and remove the handle and u-bolt from the chain. take the chain off the sprockets and out of the fan cage.
3. remove the four 1/2" bolts that hold the flywheel/fan cage assembly to the arms. Remove the flywheel/cage assembly.
4. If you need to go further, remove the heel rest; loosen and remove the four long 9/16" bolt/nuts that hold the footstretchers and arms to the monorail. Now you things about as small as they're going to get. When you reassemble use our online instructions for reference,

paying close attention to figures 15-23.
While you have it this far apart you might consider pulling the return mechanism out and seeing how the bungee cord and other components look.

Re: Quick Model B Disassembly method?
Thanks for your instructions c2jonw. I ended up disassembling it into flywheel, monorail, and arms with no problems. I will for sure inspect everything before putting it back to good use.
