PM5 and Garmin Chest HRM

Hi All

I have just purchased a new C2 Rower with PM5. I have managed to pair my Garmin HR Chest Strap but when I select Just Row for example the HR Monitor is not automatically picked up by the PM5 and does not show my HR. In order to get the PM5 to work with the HRM I need to go through the set up process every time I row - More Options - Connect HRM etc then it all works fine.

Is this normal? I would assume once its paired and you have turned on the PM5 that the two just connect automatically.

It must be paired in the manner you described each time it is used. Just the way that the system is set up, unfortunately.

Or you could plug in a USB flash drive and save the HRM config to the USB memory.

I never noticed that. I always thought that ErgData was getting the info from the PM5. Does it pick up the heart rate monitor independent of the PM5 on both ios and android?

...which nobody claimed that it did.

The PM5 connects to the chest strap. But it will not do so on itself. You have three options for getting a pairing:

• pair it manually every time

• use a USB pen to remember the pairing

• let Ergdata remember the pairing

Never mind...there's apparently some miscommunication / misunderstanding here and I don't think it's worth getting off into the weeds over.

I'll leave it at that.
