Storage space needed

Post by ShartP » July 17th, 2025, 12:47 am

Am struggling to find a conclusive answer to this.

What is the minimum storage space required for a Concept 2 rower split into its two parts? I can only really find the required footprint for it assembled into one piece. However, the ceiling of the room it will be stored in is too low for the whole thing to be stored upright, so in two parts is a must.

Room to use it is no problem, but it will need to be stored away after each use.

Is there much difference between the different generations in terms of the storage space required?

It took me a while to find the RowErg manuals (at https://www.concept2.com/support/indoor ... schematics). The specs sheet has this:
https://cms.concept2.com/sites/default/files/2024-06/RowErg_Specs.pdf wrote:With standard legs: 25 in x 33 in x 54 in (63.5 cm x 83.8 cm x 137.2 cm).
With tall legs: 27 in x 47 in x 54 in (68.6 cm x 119.4 cm x 137.2 cm).
Apart from the Model A & Model B they're all the same size (give or take the ModelE with the tall legs).

From https://www.concept2.com/ergs/rowerg

Storage
Can be separated into two parts for easy storage. With standard legs: 25 in x 33 in x 54 in (63.5 cm x 83.8 cm x 137.2 cm). With tall legs: 27 in x 47 in x 54 in (68.6 cm x 119.4 cm x 137.2 cm).

if you're split storing, you separate the legs, tilt the fan section upright, and then leave the legs "wherever they can fit"

Delivery box size dimensions may be useful too - as while minor assemble is required, the max lengths of the various sections will be less than the packaging dimensions.

Shipping Dimensions

Standard legs: One box:
15 in x 21.5 in x 57 in (38 cm x 55 cm x 144 cm)
Tall legs: Two boxes:
15 in x 21.5 in x 57 in (38 cm x 55 cm x 144 cm)
12.5 in x 21.5 in x 27 in (32 cm x 55 cm x 68 cm)

May be my incompetence, but when I borrowed a Model C I could not see how to separate it, but definitely can be done for all later models.

When not in use my machine lives dismantled underneath the stairs, as per the picture partway down this page on C2's website:

https://www.concept2.com/blog/5-tips-on ... r-machines

I measured mine in its place and can confirm:
monorail is 54 inches/138 cm high
main unit is 50 inches/127 cm high
space occupied is 35 inches/88 cm deep and 33 inches/84 cm wide.

...but if I had to reassemble the erg each time I rowed I'd do a lot less rowing.

Putting something underneath the erg when rowing in the house is also important. I use a carboard box in the garage to keep sweat off the concede floor, but in the house a mat of some kind or carpet runner is good. Plan on storing that also.

Good Luck.
