Model D acting strange

I got on my erg yesterday and I pulled one hard stroke. After that I heard a weird popping noise and it felt like the resistance was alot less. I pulled 10 of my hardest strokes and my split wouldnt go below 1:58. Anyone have any ideas as to whats going on???? Much apreciated..

Was the popping noise from you or the machine? :lol:

Is the chain still well set on the cogwheel?
