How to program time countdown

Post by diannagail » March 2nd, 2008, 1:31 am

Could someone give me a step by step (I'm slow on the uptake sometimes) procedure for setting the program for a time countdown instead of count up?

What model monitor do you have? PM2, PM3 or PM4?

(Also you only need to post your question once, most people will still see it!)

I'm not sure which monitor it is. It is at the gym. I'll check to see which one it is next time.
Sorry about the multiple posts

No worries! Whichever model it is, you should just be able to program a time-based workout (e.g. 30 minutes) and it will automatically start counting down as you row. The exact steps for doing that do vary according to the monitor, though.

I called the gym this morning to find out which model it is, so I'll have the information for my next workout. Thanks for your reply. :)

From the Main Menu- Select Workout/New Workout/Single Time. Set the time to whatever you want. Split Length will default to 1/5th of the time you set but can be set to any amount. PaceBoat is optional- this drives the paceboat on the third viewing screen. Hit the check mark to bring you to a rowing screen- begin to row. Note if you have a log card you can store your workout as a Favorite and eliminate the hassle of setting it up every time you row. There's more information under the Information menu from the Main Menu. C2JonW

C2jonw,

While you are on the line...I'm a new rower and yesterday, I selected to do 5000 meters, which I had never done before. When I started rowing it, the pace boat was out in front of me for a while, and then I eventually passed it. My question is this...on a new time/distance workout, how does the PM establish a "pace" for the pace boat?

this is a easy one, you can purchase a log from the concept2 web site. I think it is $6.50.
being a new rower, concept2 web site has some very good rowing info they can send you. Alot of it is free, video's etc. Check out their web site, maybe there is stuff that may interest you.
You can buy your own rower and it comes with a free log card

You set the pace at the bottom of the same screen where you set the distance.

Brian, Unless you set a pace at the workout setup menu the paceboat will simply follow along at whatever pace you are rowing at. C2JonW
