This was it! Thank you!!!

While spooling down, I noticed the cover had a little bit of rotational play, which changed the vibration noise slightly, so I removed the cover. The cover screws made a “crack” when I first loosened them, and they were very tight, probably tighter than I’d feel comfortable tightening them in ABS, but the cover itself had a little play underneath the tight screws. Strange. I added a little electrical tape to the top and bottom surfaces that hold the laminations of the pickup coils.

Great and you're welcome. I think the culprit was a tolerance stack up in the thickness of the laminations and the space available between the cover and base housing pieces. Easier than changing bearings!
