Rowing Machine mat

Hey all,

I had the Model C...I just started using it again after many years in my basement. The machine is right on the cement floor. I noticed the machine moves and skips on the floor as it's used. I assume I should put it on a mat or something to grip it or stop it from moving. Before I invest any money, what do other people use? Would love some ideas. Thanks!

Mine sits on carpet, just find a big enough piece of it to put under the whole Erg.

I like the Carpet and underlay as it would also help to absorb vibration.

Something in rubber designed to absorb what movement there is and vibration would be even better.

For many years now, I have been using a rowing mat from SuperMats (http://www.supermats.com/specs.html) the 36"x78" size. Works very well and is easy to clean.

The only problem with a carpet is that it can get pretty nasty if you sweat a ton. Probably not a big deal if you have a real dry basement, or if nobody else will see it.

I placed two pieces of heavy duty gym equipment matting, each 12" x 24" x 1/2", under the front and rear supports. They keep the erg in place quite well. I don't understand the reason for having a mat that goes completely under the rower unless it has some other use than to keep it from moving around.
