Looking at a Model D with the PM2.
I thought the model D came with a PM3?
Could it be a Model C with a PM2?
It looks like the model c was made until 2003.
So, when was the pm2 made until?
Owner bought it used 2 years ago.
Thanks!

If it has a PM2 it can ONLY be a model B or model C.

PM2s won't work on a model D or E because the flywheel pickup isn't compatible.

Thanks! very helpful. Tried searching for that info on the site and didn't find it. Maybe I didnt look hard enough.
So, it looks like I am mostly interested in either one of the D models.
Perhaps a C if it has below avg logged km and is a great price.
I plan to keep one for at least a few years and get weekly use out of it.
What is a good rule of thumb if I'm looking to buy one with below avg use?
A C with say, less than 4 million km logged?
A D with less than 2m
A newer D with less than 1m?
Just curious. I know these are strong machines that go 10s of millions of km, but just wondering.
Thanks!

One simple rule, don't buy an ex-gym machine. Get one that's been well maintained.
I've already rowed 1,000,000 since May, that's a tiny distance.
C2 rowers are good for 20 or more years use.
If you're looking at model Ds then read this first:

Thanks for the info! Thought about that too and I have no intentions of buying a gym machine, however, technically, someone could sell me one out of their home that was used in one previously....risks of buying used.
I actually did find that link. Looks to me like there would be no issue. I would do the fix.
I may end up going new, however, I may hold out just a bit longer. I may luck out and a find a machine thats a year or two old that someone barely used.
