Have moved rower with PM5 outdoors. Glare from sunlight makes it impossible to see monitor. Any suggestions as to how to remedy this situation?

I think it comes down to whether or not you want to shade just the monitor, or the entire rower (or most of it).
Something like a "cantilever umbrella" would work if you wanted to go with the larger option. (do an image search on Google - as usual, the forum only allows you to link to tiny images, so I can't find anything small enough to show here)
Beware of the ones with a tiny base - I'm sure the lightest breeze is enough to knock them over.

Ouch!!

. Nice, but kinda pricey...should work out mighty fine, though.

I'd start with a carefully folded piece of card (from a cereal box) and some masking tape. You should be able to fashion a hood that way.
Baby supply shops have clip-on umbrellas to keep the little ones in the shade if you want to go that route.

Have you tried polarized sunglasses?

You can adjust the screen contrast in the settings. Failing that, perhaps you could build or buy a small, folding glare shield:

Can you turn the machine around so the sun is not on the screen? If now then a card shade as mentioned seems sensible.
We don't get a problem with sun in the UK that much!
