Issue with Slides - Hitting the Front

Hi,
I have had a pair of slides for the static erg for about a year and a half.
I recently got them out and for some reason I keep hitting front bump of the front slide. This never happened before in 18 months of use. When I examine the slides and put them side by side on a level surface they don't line up with eachother. See images attached. One of the bungees also looks slack when I put the weight of the erg on them. When I sit on the erg it doesn't seem to return to centre, hence why I keep hitting the front.
I have been storing the slides stood up on their ends, I'm wondering if this has stretched the cord during storage as the slide goes to the bottom of the slide when stored like this so one end of the bungee is stretched and one is slack. However, I didn't see any instructions for storage in the manual.
I have posted some images of the issue here

I have check the distance between the slides to be exactly 47cm and used a spirit level to check they are exactly level.
I have to say I didn't do lots of mileage on the slides, I mostly use the erg on its own.
- Should I try tightening them?
- Should the slides line up with eachother when put next to eachother?
- I also measured the position of the slide one each, they were not centred, should they be?
