Thanks Graham. Will try and adjust. The other thing I've been doing just as reminder is that I have a couple of bungie cords wrapped around track to give me a little reminder nudge when I get tired or whatever and my form starts falling apart. They seem to really help.

Deep breaths can cause pain if you have a rib stress fracture. Could it be that the movement of the serratus anterior in deep breathing is helping the rowing movements to CAUSE a rib stress fracture? Taking only ONE breath per stroke is likely to need deep breaths. Better to take 2 shallower breaths per stroke - out at the catch and the release.
Many experts do this!
