Slow forum
Slow forum
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that this forum seems to be about the slowest website on the net. I remember that a year or so ago there were several times when it was apparently shut down completely and the shut downs were often preceded by the forum's getting slower and slower. Well there haven't been any recent outages, but the slowness is certainly there. For me it has often been a case of clicking on a new message, waiting for a while, giving up on the message, going off to do something else, and coming back after a period of time to find that the message is, indeed, finally on display. It is not always slow, but I haven't observed any consistent pattern to the slowness, so I have no good guess as to what is causing it. It is certainly not heavy traffic. As several members have pointed out, there has not been a lot of activity on the forum recently. Perhaps other have gotten tired long waits just as I have.

Re: Slow forum
Another case in point: Sending messages. I timed this one and it was a full 45 seconds before it went out. Sure that is less than a minute, but how many other forums take that long to send a message of only about 150 words?Bob S. wrote:Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that this forum seems to be about the slowest website on the net. Re: Slow forum
The hang up is apparently in getting onto the site. At least the message that shows during the long wait is something about Contacting "www.c2forum.com".

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

It does seem that much slower than normal. Positively comatose.

slower and sloower and slooower.
What is going on here?
Is the site going to fold again?
Over a full minute just for the site to open, than almost a half minute to log on. After that there are various waiting times for each individual message to come on — sometimes right away, sometimes well over a minute.
I am about ready to give it up as an utter waste of time.
Anybody out there???
